I vote for No. 2, the 11/30/07 shot. The colors are better, and the tower is more crisp.

There are birds in the first photo, and I certainly love birds, LOL, but they're so small they don't really make a statement.

Perhaps the tower looks more defined on the screen in the second image because it's somewhat larger than the first. But I printed out both of these in 8x10, and the towers look equally good. The birds look a little bigger, too. :-)

Yes, the birds don't really show up very well, so I vote for #2, also. Awesome job, on the pictures AND the tower!

I like the first one better....but would suggest you clone out the thingy in the upper left hand corner.

Thank you! It's 120 feet tall  the equivalent of a 12-story building. You can just imagine my state of mind when he climbs it . . .

I too like the first one best. If you have the original high res version (straight from the camera), I'd be happy to do some Photoshop cleanup and tweaking before you send it out to print.

The colors of #2 are spectacular, but I think I like #1 best--the colors are also striking and it highlights the tower, with less distraction from the wires around it.

# two for me too. I like the way the light hits the roof of the barn and outbuilding. There are also fewer leaves on the tree and the other antenna show up better. Plus I like the more colorful image.

They are both gorgeous but #2 has better lighting.

number #2!! Kudo's to your son...that was no easy feat...I remember coming home one time and hubster was on top of our roof hanging a ham antennae...i freaked...he's not insured enough to be on top of a roof!

Both of them are wonderful, but I would vote for #2. The colors in that will look great framed!

Love #2 because of all the colors. What a great job your son did. Not sure I really want to know how he got it to stand upright, but I bet it wasn't easy. (I tend to close my eyes or go shopping when dangerous looking stuff is happening around here.)

I vote for #1. I like the more muted colors. And I have to say if my son did something like that I would paddle his behind and ground him for 6 weeks!!! lol!

My vote is for No. 1. In my opinion I think the colors distract from the tower if you want the tower to be the main focus.

They are both great pictures!

I prefer the first one for these reasons.

I like the sun peeking.

It looks more like a picture of the tower (#2 looks like a sunset shot.)

If this is going to be a picture for his room - I think the second one is too pinky.

I also prefer the buildings more distant in #1.

#2 is the prettier picture, but #1 has character. If it were me, I'd want #1. He will probably prefer #2 for what it is, being part of such a pretty skyline skyline. I would want #1 for different reasons than it being a ham tower. Because it's about the ham tower, I think #2 is the better choice to go down in immortal history in a picture frame. Also, you won't have to crop as much off the top/bottom of #2 to make it an 8x10.

Wondering how the two pictures are different sizes from the same camera. I don't know anything about taking pics.

Bestlawn, they're different sizes because we have to resize the images before posting them on the Internet, and I'm not all that consistent about what size I make them.

You are a thoughtful group of voters, and I appreciate every one. That does not mean, however, that I've made up my mind. I'm more undecided than ever. But thanks!! :-)

Oh I have the solution - tomorrow morning put on your jammies and take 2 more photos!!! I know what your weather forecast is for tomorrow - the infamous 'wintry mix'. Just think how dapper the antenna will look with icicles and the roof frosted with snow.

Or frame both of them and then decide if one looks better framed or let Joey pick his favorite and then hang the other one in your home.
