Ever been to a Pain Clinic?

My 16 year old knee replacement has been giving me problems lately, so my ortho-doc sent me to the Pain Clinic.

I went Monday for spinal steroid injections. I have been before, about 4 years ago. Like everything else, things have changed. Used to go to an office in the Medical Building (part of the hospital) now I had to go to the hospital outpatient surgery department. Undress and put on a gown; didn't have to do that before.

Used to be in and out in maybe 45 minutes; this time it took two hours. Most of that time was answering questions, the same ones, over and over, to 3 different people. Actually saw the doctor (not the same one from last time, he has moved on) about 15 minutes.

Injections went fine. My legs are still a little stiff and achy today, but the sun is shining, even though it is cold, but I'm going in to town for a while, just for some milk and my eye drops, in case we have snow this weekend.

Just wondered what your experiences have been if you have been to a Pain Clinic.
