How embarrassing What a dork I am!

Just heard a car horn outside....ran out to see who it was.Larry's BOSS! Here I am in my nightgown...uncombed hair...no teeth in...OMG! Why didn't I take the time to throw some clothes on??? I thought it was the mailman .....

Anyway he was delivering Christmas Presents...has never done this before.I feel like an idiot! LOL! Guess he's seen me in all my glory now...I hate unexpected guests! Let me know when you're coming and I'll clean up and put my teeth in! LOL!

I know a lot of people say not to water tomatoes from the top. Then I figured out the WHY of it. When you have unmulched tomato plants, the water from the hose splashes dirt onto the lower leaves, and diseases seem to start from there. (Actually, hard rain can probably do the same, but no one seems to notice that.) So, now I remove all the lower leaves from my tomato plants, and then I mulch them with a thick layer of straw. No dirt to splash, no lower leaves trailing in the dirt trying their best to get diseased. HAH! I'm smarter than a tomato! After all these years.... Sue

Trygg! You naughty naughty troll!!! I guess he was lured in by JT who is galavanting all over the place! BAD JT for taking him to the biker rally. I guess he's on a wild adventure trolling where he can--the Garden Web offices, bad biker rallies, and who knows where else... Glad to know he made it home. So, he's sulking, huh? Maybe he needs to go to confessional and be forgiven. You ALL had me laughing very HARD for about 10 minutes!!!! It's the best honest laugh I've had in awhile.....THANKS!!! Coloredthumb .... Thank you so much ! I could picture you laughing & saying those things ..... and wagging your finger at me !! I really thought you were being "mother hen" ~~ LOL ( I just had to make sure ! ) MY emotions are wack-o now . I should never had doubted you . I'm sorry ! ((((( Colored Thumb )))))) When I took my written cancellation notice to the Post Office today ... The guy at the post office was being so sympathetic and wanting to help every way he can . He was a gem . He explained certified mail to me ... how it's legal ... he made every effort to make sure I knew everything . I Sent the letter - certified - return reciept requested. I have evidence that I sent it on time. I also called my bank .... I never knew customer service was open all day Sunday ! Ashamed - I again told my stoopid story .......and to my surprise .. the gentleman that took my call was so supportive . We stayed on the phone for about 10 minutes -- he assured me that I'm not the only one. He explained how scammers play on your emotions ... he was dead on . What a wonderful guy . He also suggested that since I gave them a personal check - ( that can't be cashed because of the stop payment ) they now have my bank account number and might decide to "get revenge" by stealing my identity. I should change the account number . I'll be doing that tomorrow. I'm just in awe of people that are really concerned - not laughing because I Was so stupid - but really are trying to help me. I love my little part of the world ..

I wanted to share a little about my "chicken gardening" and this looks like the right place, Michelle. I planted peas and wheat yesterday. The wheat is the same ornamental black-bearded wheat I've had for years and what DW uses to make wreathes. The peas were all sorts but what went in the bed with the wheat was Alaska. I've grown Alaska before and altho' we've got better shell pea choices, I've noticed that the researchers use Alaska like it is a field pea in research projects - it's cheap seed, too. (We had cow pea & oats hay when I was a kid but I understand cow peas are something else, entirely.) I'm hoping to harvest the wheat together with the peas, lay this on a tarp, and stomp the seed out. Since legume seed should be cooked some before feeding to chickens, I'm thinking 20 minutes in a rice cooker should make for some delicious hen food this Winter. There are other possibilities and I'm also planning to sow millet again this year (another wreath item). What might go with the millet, I haven't decided yet . . . maybe finish planting the Alaska pea seed. Yeah Michelle, chickens really don't have much to worry about out there. I've put another vet manual link on toxic plants here. I just don't see a lot of reason for concern. Note that brassicas can "poison" critters. But, for the most part we can understand this - indigestion because of too much mustard on our hotdog is a matter of experience. There's also an issue of goiter development. (They've got kidneys too - but you'll never see a rooster "hike his leg" on a fence post.) Then there's the cutting stuff at the wrong time for hay issue. Like cutting grass immediately after the field has been underwater for a week or so. If the critter has no choice but to eat something - it may eat something that doesn't taste good to it. Of course with a chicken . . . styrofoam tastes good! I bet, they'd drink antifreeze or other horrible stuff, too. d'S' Here is a link that might be useful: Merck vet manual

Yes...I ran outside...told ya I'm a dork! LOL! I'm expecting a package from PA and when I heard the horn,I just thought "MAILMAN"! I don't think I'll do that again....oh who am I trying to kid...I'll probably do it again next time I hear a horn! LOL!
Last time he came here ....we had a party and my dog peed on the floor right in front of him...I bet he's real impressed with me! LOL! But he's pretty cool...he just laughs....at least I provide him with free entertainment!

The UPS man has caught me running for my robe so many times..I told Denny...what the heck...I'm just answering in my night gown...

This particular boss isn't "my" immediate boss.But I guess he is sorta my boss too,I have to answer to him for some things.Make sense? I work in the warehouse,Larry works in the plant...two different buildings.This wasn't the "BIG" boss...not the owner. I have lots of boss's...I'm one of the lowmen on the totem pole.
My immediate boss is a 25 yr old whippersnapper! LOL! He was staring at me the other day...I asked him if something was wrong...he said"You're crazy!" Hmmmmm! I didn't even do anything! LOL!

No lunchlady....normally I am up and dressed...LOL! But i had a rough week at work and decided to sleep in today and just be lazy...not a good idea! LOL!
Yep...not only went to the door with no teeth...but ran outside! I think I skidded to a stop when I saw who it was!I couldn't hardly beat a retreat...he already saw me...I'm sure Larry will hear about it at work! LOL! He'll be so proud of me! I impress him all the time! LOLOLOL!

LOLOL You are one brave woman CR, that's all I know. He'd have had to beat my door down before I answered it if he came unexected like that. I'm getting worse about not being presentable very early in this, the twilight of my life. :) Glad you got rewarded with presents though. That's certainly a good reason to go to the door anytime. LOL

Hope your nighty wasn't see thru.LOL I answer the door in my nitegown but mine are flannel.BUT nobody ever sees me without my teeth,even DH.I take them out only when i get in the shower,and as soon as i get out,putting them back in is the first thing i do.Even when i have surgery i make the dr's promise me that someone will put them back in as soon as the surgery is over,and so far they always have.

My summer nitegowns are all cotton prints and not the ole lady type prints either.I sew so i make all mine and use pretty cottons and even put side pockets in them,so if i need to i can just slip on my bra and wear them as a dress.

As for my hair,when my feet hit the floor in the morning,i put on my glasses,run the brush thru my hair ,then go in the bathroom and do everything else.

Hope he brought you nice gifts,and didn't have his video camera going!! LOL,LOL

Ok...he called after Larry got home from work.Invited us out for a couple drinks.We went and he told Larry...oh yeah...she came out with her hair all messed up...no teeth and her nightgown on.THEN he said...when she went to go back in her underwear fell down around her knees...I came back with"But Ray...that isn't true,I didn't have any underwear on!"He spit his drink out...I've honestly never seen anyone do that before! LOL! But it's the truth,I told him..I always heard you should let it air out at night.OMG! Everyone was rolling! LOL! It's official...I'm an idiot! LOL!

Many times I have been caught, naked, rummaging through the dryer for clean underwear as someone is walking up the deck.

I'm so glad my mail carrier is a lady!!! She's seen me in my pj's so many times!!!The UPS guy too, but thank heaven my husbands boss has been spared the sight! LOL
