I'm a little embarrassed to say it, but next Friday night, I will join legions of ninth-graders to see New Moon, the movie version of the second Twilight book, in the theater on opening night.
I'm not in high school anymore, but like a lot of other fully grown women (and men - including my husband), I got sucked into the Twilight saga, with all its angst and teenage drama, last summer. I am fully versed in the Edward Cullen vs. Jacob Black debate, and have a lot of thoughts on whether Bella's a good role model for teenage girls, and other such things.
Even if you're not into the stories, though, it's hard not to appreciate the way the movies look. Twilight, the first movie, was dark and moody and pretty spot-on for a teenage vampire love story. But among all the clouds, there were bright spots - literally. Most noticeably, the Cullen family of vampires lived in the most amazing modern house, nestled into deep woods. It's that house, which is as amazing inside as out, that inspired this ideabook:

The Hoke house at night, viewed all lit up, is a more than impressive sight - and it's easy to see why movie scouts were dazzled.
Seen from below, the angles of the house are even cooler.
This house, rumored to be where Sam" lives in New Moon, is exactly right for the character - not over-the-top, and very homey.
Inspired by Isle Esme in Breaking Dawn, Twilight blogger mochatini found this photo the perfect combination simplicity and gorgeous surroundings. I'm particuarly fond of the little canopy - I'd love to see that on a beach anywhere.
This is mochatini's imagined Isle Esme bedroom - and it's much as I would've imagined it, as well. Beachy, yet sophisticated and full of drama.
