Anniversary Party was a Success! PICS

Thanks to everyone who gave advice and ideas for my parent's 50th anniversary party. A special thank you to Chiroptera_Mama who wrote a wonderful magic filled toast for my magician cousin to perform. See the link if you want to read it - she is VERY clever! My cousin did a great job and everyone will be talking about his "magic" for weeks. And YES, he did the dove trick (with a very realistic rubber dove) and even made real White Castle burgers appear!!

We ended up with 46 guests who all arrived in plenty of time to see the VERY surprised look on the face of my Mom and Dad. I have a picture of them when they walked in but the look on my Mother's face is not flattering at all - something between sobbing, anger and total shock - so I will not post it here. The food was delicous and because of a mix up in the kitchen, several people got 2 plates of the entree which we did not have to pay for.

Here is the memory jar I made for everyone to write down a memory of my Mom and Dad which they will read privately at a later date. The lid is off to the right... I went kind of crazy with the scrapbooking flowers. :-)

My parents.

The crowd.

My cousin performing a card trick with my parents. If you look to the right you will see the memory board I made.. the photo I took of just it didn't turn out.

Here is a photo of me, one of my short cousins and my brother.

I also scattered those candy bars (that I made little wrappers for) along the tables. The day before the party I decided to make placecards so people would know where to sit. I'm glad I did this otherwise people would have been getting up to move to make room for people that were together.

Now I can relax till Christmas. lol
