Glenda or ??? Recipe question...

I 'think' it was Glenda or someone here at our KT, posted 2-3 yrs years ago- her recipe for "Pull Apart Bacon Bread"..made in a bundt pan.

I made it that year but as delicious as it was-I found it pretty greasy from the bacon fat. Was I supposed to half fry it first? Help please, would you re-post the recipe? Maybe I read it incorrectly. I want to make this at my DD's in Raleigh on Xmas morn. Thanks

That was nodakgal's recipe!

I did one where you rolled it in butter then in cinnamon sugar, etc.

I did a quickie search and found a recipe and it does say to partially cook, or cook for 5 minutes. I would not only dab with paper towel, but I would put in colander and run hot water over it to get rid of excess and then blot! LOL

Yep, made it two Sundays straight in a row. Sausage and Cabbage 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 lb. link sausage (all natural chicken sausage with no antibotics if you can find it) 1 head of fresh, tender cabbage (organic if you can get it), chopped 1 medium sweet onion. chopped salt and pepper to taste a hit of cayenne pepper Chop the sausage into 1" pieces. Brown the sausage in a skillet with the olive oil. When sausage is browned well, add in the onions and cook until tender. Then add in the cabbag and seasonings. Cook until the cabbage wilts down. Serve immediately. What I did for just ME! I bought a large link of sweet Italian sausage at Fresh Market. Removed the casings. Scrambled it in the skillet with 1st time chopped scallions 2nd time frozen chopped onions No oil added. Then I chopped up amt of cabbage I would eat, added it to the skillet, with enough olive oil to coat, freshly ground pepper and sea salt and couple dashes of cayenne pepper. I covered it to simmer until almost tender, removed cover until some of moisture evaporated. THEN EAT! I'd say 20 minutes total cook time. I thoroughly enjoyed. You, too, patti!

I can't find my original recipe, duh, but this is Paula Deen's and it makes me think this is the one. I'm almost positive this is the one. 1 (15 1/4-ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained 1 (14 3/4-ounce) can cream-style corn 1 (8-ounce) package corn muffin mix (recommended: Jiffy) 1 cup sour cream 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted 1 to 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, stir together the 2 cans of corn, corn muffin mix, sour cream, and melted butter. Pour into a greased 9 by 13-inch casserole dish. Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and top with Cheddar. Return to oven for 5 to 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Let stand for at least 5 minutes and then serve warm.

This is the white sauce I use from my college cookbook: For a medium sauce: 1 cup milk, 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons flour, 2 tbl melted butter, 1/4 tsp salt, I sprinkle some pepper as well. Melt butter, remove from hear; add flour, stir until smooth. Return to heat add milk slowly, stirring constantly until sauce is thickened. Stir in 1/2 cup, or more, chopped or grated cheese, stir until melted I like to add a tad bit of mustard to mine, maybe 1/2 tsp. regular. I just eyeball it and taste it for my tastebuds. Here you go! It's delicious! Frozen blueberry salad 1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk 1 (20-oz) can crushed pineapple, drained 1 c. chopped pecans 1 (8 oz) Cool Whip 1 can blueberry pie filling Combine condensed milk and pineapple. Stir in pecans and pie filling. Fold in whipped topping. Pour into 9x13-inch dish. Freeze. Can also use peach or cherry pie filling *****patti43 froze hers in cupcake liners in muffin tins, and pulls out as much as she wants to serve. Remove the liner when serving.

YEPT partly cooked bacon is used... I did a search for "Pull Apart Bacon Bread" this is one of many...bet they may all be the same...

I think GLenda is thinking Monkey bread not Bacon bread.

This is the recipe I have on the computer for Pull Apart Bacon Bread, it calls for precooked bacon.

Pull-Apart Bacon Bread
12 slices bacon, diced
I use a pack of precooked
1(1pound) loaf frozen bread
dough, thawed
2 tablespoons olive or
vegetable oil, divided
1cup shredded mozzarella
cheese
1 (1 ounce) package ranch
salad dressing mix

Directions
1 In skillet, cook bacon over medium heat for 5 minutes
or until partially cooked; drain on paper towels
2 Roll out dough to Â½ inch thickness; brush with
one of oil. Cut into 1 inch pieces; place in large bowl.
Add the bacon, cheese, dressing mix and remain oil:
toss to coat. Arrange pieces in a 9 inch x 5 inch oval on a
greased baking sheet, layering as needed. (I use a pie dish)
Cover and let rise in warm place foe 30 minutes or until
doubled.
3 Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cover with foil;
bake 5-10 minutes longer or until golden brown.
