It must be pretty widespread. My friend in Illinois is getting it, and our sleet and freezing rain is supposed to start this afternoon. Let's hope the forecasters overestimated it....

Right now,in Indiana, we're getting rain, with the temperature hovering just above freezing. There's a band of freezing rain, just north of us, and I'm hoping it misses us.

Rita, we have ice on the patio furniture, but none on the pavement yet. I didn't go in to the grass and check the trees. So far, I think the majority has missed Tulsa.

We are getting rain now, but the trees and houses are covered with ice. I hope it warms up just enough to keep the roads clear since DD has to drive back to college tonight (thankfully she's going south and not north).

Frostedc, where in Indiana are you? I'm in between South Bend and Ft.Wayne. Our cars are iced over and our road is also, in fact so far this morning we have seen only one vehicle out on the road. It's 32 degrees and still raining!Our Sunday paper was out in the box tho! Brave paperman!!!

We are getting the ice, the trees have a pretty good coating and the electricity keeps blinking. Hope we don't lose power.
I took the dogs out this morning and almost fell on the steps.

Ours started Friday evening, continued off and on throughout Saturday and still more today! It came down as very light sleet, but the freezing temps (high today: 17) has it all freezing solid. We've probably got 1/4-inch of ice so far. We went to the store Friday after I got off work and got our groceries, ice melt, and a tank of gas for the generator "just in case."

Hubs is just worried that the cable will go out and he'll miss his Dallas football game. Everything else pales in comparison. LOL!

I've got WINDOWS open...it's beautiful here......backing out of this thread now before I get snowballed...

OK, Liz, but do you have water? or do you have to share showers?

Oops, guess I should update this. No freezing rain just had some more snow. I cleared Toby a path to the grass, and the deck is VERY slick. It must have done that in the night, then snowed on top of it.

All of you be careful who are in the storm's path. I don't think it will reach this far south. I went shopping today and there were many people Christmas shopping in their shorts!

I'm down here near Liz with my windows open too. It was a beautiful, blue sky, fluffy clouds, 77 degrees day here today. And yes, we do still have water. And sharing a shower can be lot of fun.

It is WICKED out there!! My dog "walks" tonight consist of standing by the back door holding a long leash. The porch steps are thickly iced, and I can just imagine what the rest of the property looks like.

Kansas City checking in - started icing up Friday afternoon, not much accumulation today, not doing anything right now. I didn't attempt to go to church today - too icy. A lot of churches closed their doors today.

I was finally able to take my dog, albeit very carefully, for a walk up the block, but it's very slick. I wouldn't risk it again!

I don't know if I will drive to work tomorrow or not - if there's no school, I will most likely be staying home, too. Be safe, everyone!

I'm gonna join Liz & Linda.I worked out in the gardens all day and didn't even need a sweater.Think it was in the mid to high 60's.It started to cool down around 3 PM,but by then i was ready to go in and make dinner.I'm in S.Calif,where it rained all day friday,and yesterday off and on,so it made weed pulling very easy.

For the rest of you stay safe and if you don't have to go out,don't.

Here in Norman, OK, we had freezing rain all day Sunday. The trees were icy by noon. The weird part was that we kept hearing THUNDER! I love thunder. Praying my trees don't snap, though.

After dark the grass finally started to ice up. The pavement isn't too terrible, maybe getting slushy.

Our power has flickered a few times. Every time it does, I yell "No!" then "Please, please please!" and it has come back on, thank Goodness!

The funniest part is how grouchy the kitty is. She's c-c-c-cold, and right now she's exploring some of my messy storage in the craft room, which she never does, looking for a warm spot. Poor kitty.

I just watched the local news. Looks pretty bad north of me. Trees breaking, power lines down, the WHOLE town of Skiatook without power.

We have icy trees, but the pavement is not slick yet. I went out, and moved my car out from under the tree.

Jerry put his work car in the garage, with the hope that the ice will melt, and he won't have to scrape to leave here in the morning.

Daughter drives my car to work, and we had her park it outside to give Jerry the spot. My car was already iced over anyway.

I hope, it doesn't rain any more overnight.

It's raining like crazy here in NW Arkansas and it's hovering around freezing. There's a thin glaze of ice on the deck railing and the fence but the ground seems to be OK. We don't have to go out today, but when it's warmer Woody's making a PO run for me. I'll just stay in here and feed wood to the stove!

Hi, all. We've kept our power, but I've been down most of the weekend with a migraine. *sigh*

One of the OKC stations is reporting 120,000 without power in Oklahoma right now, and 10 dead so far in vehicle accidents. We have really dodged a bullet here in NW Oklahoma so far. They say the moisture will move northward today, and another batch will move in tomorrow - so we may not be out of the woods yet. We are grateful that we only had a little bit of freezing rain, a moderate amount of sleet and frigid temps so far, and we are "feeling the pain" of all those who have been hit so hard.

DHs boss called last night and told him not to go to work today. That's only the second time in 20 years that's ever happened. All of the schools are closed, of course.

I think we're going to be OK, but I got up extra early to make coffee just in case our power went out. It was pouring rain and just under 32º.

Glad you are doing alright as far as the ice is concerned. Here, it is raining and everything above ground is getting more and more ice on it.

I have a lot more tree damage now, then when I took the pictures.

Flamey, I'll cross my fingers that yours stays as it is now. Yesterday I thought we managed to slide by, but overnight lots of rain, and it froze on the trees and everything above ground.

I'm sorry you all are getting all that ice and cold. Moni, hope you don't lose any of your trees.

We actually warmed up a little bit yesterday and today, but I drove home last night from work in a downpour. At one point I thought I'd have to pull over because I could barely see to drive. Today it's lightly raining and dreary out.

They're now estimating 200,000 - 300,000 homes without power and at least 12 dead. The Tulsa airport may not have power for two more days.

WOW, Moni. That is so sad. Been there, done that, and I'm sorry you're having to go through it!

I feel so good today now that my dreadful headache is finally gone! Whew! I don't think I could have stood another day of that... :-(
