Boy, OK is really getting hit hard! I would love to see some snow here, but both snow and ice make everything come to a stand-still in my neck of the woods. Very few people here know how to drive in it.

We got 8" yesterday, with the nor'easter expected to begin tomorrow afternoon.

Do you know what frozen fog is? I saw frozen fog warnings for Texas on the news this morning. I imagine it's just what it says, but how does it manifest?

Boy, Rita, you sure aren't making me miss Okla! We moved from your town in 1999 to NE Texas where the winters are soooooo much milder.........and I have to say I love it down here. I sure don't miss the howling winds, the ice or snow (or the combines, grain trucks and howling winds!) lolol

Just think of the snow family you can make with all that snow. Several generations! lolol

I have been telling people WOW, Great, I can't wait... we had rain, we had sleet, we had ice, only thing missing is the sun and some snow. LOL

NO, we don't have any ice anymore. The ice was 99% on limbs, power lines and EVERYTHING above ground. It melted. I guess, I better get off here, and work on my back yard.

LOL! I thought ... boy, I'm glad we're only expecting 6 - 8 INCHES! LOL!

We did have sunshine yesterday, Rita. It was lovely! Melted the ice enough so it came crashing to the ground. The dogs were out chasing the falling ice for awhile, til they got bonked a couple of times. The little ones went back inside, but the big ones kept playing with it. They'd grab a hunk and bring it inside, and set it down while they got a drink or whatever ... then it would be gone when they went to pick it up again. Blu kept looking at Tallulah, like ... where'd it go?? It was funny!

Oh, well NOW I don't feel so sorry for you. LOL (I didn't even notice the mistake)

I really need power before the snow starts. We had the frozen fog this morning.

I went to the Dollar Store last night and bought a king size flannel comforter for twenty bucks for me and the dogs. I tried to leave them a blanket yesterday to snuggle on but they took it out the dog door and now it's wet.

I'm coming to work early to take a shower. I do have hot water at home but sliding that cold towel around you to dry off is icky.

I never dreamed it would be this long. I don't even know what food I'd get at the store. Maybe a turkey. I've been wishing I had something to cook so I could have the oven on for a few hours.

Kim, can you light your oven? I can't. I could only use the burners.

Make a nice pot of stew! and put left overs in smaller containers in the garage, or outside where the dogs can't get to it to keep it cold. :)

Hey Kim, I still don't have power either. At least you have some warm little bodies that like to snuggle! My kitty only puts up with that for so long. She's been tolerating it for an extra 30 seconds lately because she's so cold.

I've tacked up sheets over the windows to keep out drafts, and I'm going to block off the hallway to the bedrooms and just stay in the living room. I plan to cook a fair amount of pasta, maybe heat up some spaghetti sauce for it. If you're able to light the burners on your stove, try boiling a few pans of water. We got the house up almost to 70 degrees yesterday that way, but there were three people there.

Big Lots still has lots of candles, including a $4 bag of 110 tealights. We've clustered every candle holder I own on a table in the living room and put a tealight in each one. That warms things up, too! The bigger and taller the glass holder, the more light it'll reflect. Even better if you can prop a mirror behind them. Big Lots also has those potpourri fishbowls for less than a dollar, so I bought two. They throw quite a bit of light. And I think most of the dollar stores in Norman will have that kind of thing, though maybe not the big bag of tealights.

I was going to say, you must feel like you live at the north pole. 4 - 8" is bad enough. :))

I didn't read feet either Rita. :) I'd love that much snow. I think we're just due a powdering from that same system. Send it back when you're through with it. We did get 1.25" of rain a couple of days ago. That was a very pleasant surprise.

Moni, I'm sorry you lost your tree. I hate to see the ice storms come and destroy the trees.

LOL in Oklahoma the state shuts down with 3 inches of snow. So 4 inches, 4 feet, it really doesn't matter. We don't have it often enough to warrent the big equipment.

My friend put candles in pans so the cats couldn't knock them over. I thought that was a good idea.

I was feeling sorry for you, but now- not so much! We've got some coming, too. We typically either get a dusting of snow, like 1-4", or we get dumped on, about 20-24". Personally, I don't care- it doesn't seem to matter to our power lines, we'll lose it either way. lol

I was just out running errands and the big trucks are pre-treating the roads. I passed one on the bridge and a big chunk of salt hit my windshield, I wouldn't be surpised if it's chipped and will crack. Great. That'll make a windshield a winter!
