I am so grateful that my work has slowed down this month enough to let me get caught up on rest and do some much-needed "thinning" of stuff in my closets and office! I am also grateful that I've had such a good year with my business that I can afford to have a slow month.

Sounds like you DO have a lot to be grateful for, 'writer!

I'm grateful that my grandkids are healthy and happy. Also tht they're getting ready to have a break from school. I know that they're all tired of it right now.

I'm grateful that I don't have to go anywhere today, I'm sure the crowds are going to be crazy for the next 5 days or so.

I WISH I could be grateful for a transporter machine like from Star Trek! If I could beam myself over to Hobby Lobby just for 30 minutes, I would. It's not worth the drive over though, it would be 3 gallons of gas! lol How much you think running that transporter would cost?

QOD: Friday: A date with DH! We haven't had a date in 10 months, but finally found a lady who is fingerprinted and back-ground checked who can watch Baby V once a month. Besh, maybe we'll light a fire later...right. One DD has a slumber party and one DD has a dance, so we are going to dinner on the waterfront! Saturday: Book fair at 9. Pick up pre-ordered tree at 10. Community Santa party at 4 to get Baby's pic with Santa,-if he will tolerate it! (Baby, not Santa...) Maybe a visit with prospective adoptive parents. Sunday: Off the rock to choose light fixtures for the new place. Maybe another visit with adoptive parents. Then DH leaves to go to the city for 2 nights and I have big plans to organize THE WORLD--(insert evil laugh here.) Donna- Hugs for your mom. Wow! That sounds painful! I slammed my right-hand pointer finger in my glovebox last Friday and took off the top of it. It's been pretty enlightening, learning how much I use that pointer! It's getting better after getting worse! Patti-Enjoy the scrapbooking. Dave has the right idea, for sure. Have fun with water! Peg: Your aunt is trying to keep you busy so you don't get into trouble! Everything happens for a reason! She sounded like she loved life and has everything planned out for leaving it. I love pre-plans in the funeral biz. It makes decision making much easier. I saw so many families aginize over the deceased and their funerals. PLAN AHEAD! Besh: I never miss "The Year There Was No Santa Claus" Heat Miser and Cold Miser are the bomb! Milkdud: The Friends of the Library here does SO MUCH! They also have a book sale in teh spring at the elementary school that earns a ton of money. People donate books all year and the "Friends" organize them on the risers at the school and sell them for a dollar an inch. NHSuzanne: you and your "Where did the year go?" lol. It was you who, a few months ago, couldn't wait to get through 2008! I remember because I felt SO STRONGLY the same way! Now we have almost made it. Raeanne and Milkdud: I still take the ferry and drive to my old town for dentist--an 8 hour drive plus the time in the chair. I take my kids there too. I can't bear to part with my dentist. I have found a new hairdresser but it's a ferry ride away and a short drive. I sent my kids as guinea pigs for the first visit, but I will go myself this month! Raeanne- PROMOTE YOURSELF. Your work is amazing. But the "shy" you would be fascinating to witness, I'm sure....lol. Have a geat weekend, everyone!

Good Saturday morning from chilly north Texas! It's windy, sunny, and not supposed to get above 45 again today. Brrr! BJ, I am so sorry for your loss. You dad always sounded like such a good man. He's leaving a legacy of love for all his family. (((((BJ and family)))) (((Suzanne))) Losing fur/feather babies is always hard on the heart. They were blessed animals to have been loved and cared for by you. (((Besh))) Thinking of you and wishing you a much better 2011! Jan, what a lovely gift your mom gave you. Christmas at your house will be even more blessed this year because of it. Prayers for your dh and you. Marci, want to come wrap the gifts I have for my grandson? I walked out of the house in Crosby and left all my gift bags, etc. in the closet, so I'll have to start fresh here. Those are the only gifts I have left to wrap. Raeanne, I enjoyed peeking at your FB pictures of your Chamber Christmas party. You and your hubby are looking good! Dee, I hope your results were good. I've been thinking of you! Tikanis, it's good to see you posting again! I'm one to talk as I've been mostly MIA this last week or so. My apartment is looking pretty good today. Of course, I know that things are stashed everywhere with no logic involved, but it looked decent when my sister came yesterday. She was able to hang 3 pictures for me before she had to go, and the rest is up to me. Once I find the stand for my little Christmas tree, I hope to get in the decorating spirit again. Hard to believe that Christmas is a week from today, and I don't have anything festive out yet. Oh, well. There's always next year, right? Life is good otherwise. Good health, good friends and family, and enough money in the bank to pay the bills - so far! Wishing everyone a productive or restful day - whichever you need most!

Hello and TGIF!! I have today off and spent 3 hours in 3 different grocery stores trying to get the most out of my dollar for our party next week. DH keeps inviting more people; long story, but we are hovering at around 40. I saved over $60 going to different supermarkets, and they are all within 4 miles of my house, so was not too bad. Suzanne, I hope this week got better for you. Thanks for letting us know you got my sister's suggestions for your breakfast! Marci, Besh, BJ, Jen, Maddie, Amy...so many others....missing you. Carolyn, hope your situation steadily improves. We are all pulling for you, and 2011 will be one of your best years, I"m sure. Patti, a package was sitting on my porch when I got home this morning! It's under the tree now in the same shipping box; promise not to sneak a peek! Raeanne, I bought lots of cute craft fair ornaments (and some from Pier 1) to put cash into for the 20 and 30-somethings. They really want money, and I've been doing it for years now. My newly married stepdaughter mentioned again that their tree is filled with the ornaments we gave her since she was a child. :0) Thanks to all of you for your continued good thoughts for me. I'm grateful that my daughter has a job interview on Wednesday. Her internship was over 2 weeks ago and she's been stressed out about finding a new position. That's the good news - the bad news is that we have to go back out tomorrow to find an 'interview' outfit. How jolly - 2 people who hate to shop trying to find a suit, shoes, and blouse. I'll just remind myself that I am grateful that she has an interview.

I'm grateful for the KT, in particular today:

Jodi, who did a beautiful job Photoshopping the picture of the sun rising on my DS's ham radio tower (he'll love it!), and

Monablair, who sent me a fat envelope of information that will be so useful to me when I teach the eBay classes.

Big thanks to both, and to the rest of you who keep me smiling (and "talking") every day.

Today I am grateful for my family as always!
I am also grateful that the gift I ordered for DGS Drew and damaged in transit and returned was shipped out yesterday! It has delivery set between 12/21 and 12/24!
And of course I am grateful that things are some what on track for the company coming this week-end. I leave with DS to pick up Maddie at 4 pm Friday, DD and the boys will be here Saturday morning. Lots of work to do in a couple days, but I think I will make it! :)

I was grateful for a good hot shower this morning. My washer died this week and I got to thinking about what else might go and I immediately thought of my hot water heater. Many people in this world do not have this luxury.

Nodak, nothing like cutting it close, eh? We've been hearing on TV about people actually following delivery trucks around (not here - but somewhere) and picking up packages left on porches. :-(

Kathy, my stuff breaks in 3's. I have a switch out on a ceiling fan and an undercounter light quit, so now I'm waiting to see what's next. But you're so right, we have it better than most in this world!

I am grateful that Bobby's surgery to remove a tumor from his finger this morning went off without a hitch.

Im grateful my 16 y o GD is having her 4th and final knee surgery Friday. The first surgeon used screws that were too LONG and the tip has punched her muscle. All this time. At first her parents thought she was just a hypochondriac (runs in the family). But once the second surgeon saw it, he about had a fit. So, this is to repair the first surgery. Had the other one done Thanksgiving. What a way to spend the holidays, but she's my girl and she's going to be fine.

Jenni-This side of the dirt-LOL!!

I'm grateful that my DD is usually a good girl! We went to Christmas party today at church and some of the kids were just being super cranky and screaming! One boy was throwing toys at everyone so his mom took him home.

Thanks for reviving the gratitude post.

I'm grateful that my son is home on semester break and the 5 of us are together until mid January. I think this was the first dinner we have shared together in 3 months.
