Yes, of course I remember Van Johnson. He looked a lot like my red-headed great uncle, and they both had some Dutch ancestry.

I was sad to hear that he had passed away, but he did live a long, full life.

Did this just happen? He was the big heart throb when I was little I remember attending an Ice Capades show in Chicago and the spotlight was on him when he entered and took his seat I think he was going with Sonya Henie at the time.

I liked him and thought he got better with time. In later years he was on Murder She wrote tv show. Another good performance was Elizabeth Taylor's DH in The Last Time I saw Paris

Loved them all but my favorite was Robert Mitchum. Still get chills when I see old movies with him in it. Of course at this age I probably just need to turn up the heat to get rid of the chill. lol

I remember reading that he was 4F during the war, so he was able to stay home, be in movies, and thus become a star. I always wondered what made him 4F. He seemed like such a nice, genuine fellow.

Yes, I loved him in several movies with Lucille Ball. RIP, Van, you brought us a lot of joy.

No mention was made in the paper about "Miracle in the Rain". A real tearjerker, as I recall with Jane Wyman. Good chick flick.
