Thanks Vicki. The web site over the years has generated emails from a number people whose lives were touched by my father in ways I can't even fathom. One man told me he has kept a scrapbook as a sort of shrine to my father. Old girlfriends, classmates, students of his boxing school, neighbors, etc. have all Googled his name, found the site and written me. I recently got an email from an 80+ year old woman who attended art school with him. She told me the only reason she didn't date dad was that she towered over him by about a foot. LOL Jodi-

Socks12345, My Dads family was from what use to be East Germany, very near the border with Poland. At times they were considered to be in Poland. A hundred years ago the borders were more flexible. They seem to be a stern family. My Grandfather was in his mid 20's when he came here in 1913. He never learned very much English so I never really had a conversation with him. Kids were seen and not heard. Us grandkids had to be serious around him. If somone cracked a joke and we laughed he'd get angry and think we were laughing at him. It's a miracle that my Dad grew up to be as normal as he is. Ron
