Peter Pan statue in Bowring Park, St. John's, Newfoundland. There are 7 identical Peter Pan statues in the world, all made by the same person, Sir George Frampton, following a commission by J. M. Barrie. They are located in St. John's(this one); London, England; Liverpool, England; Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Brussels, Belgium; Perth, Australia and Camden, NJ, USA.

I took this picture this morning as my husband was walking out the door. He's posing for the camera with his favorite pipe, which bears a stunning resemblance to Wayne! He just needs a little hat with some horns on it...

Really just amazing pictures this morning, you guys!! I'm always in awe of the photos you post here. vetaal, I love you garden tender. Cute, Phyllis! Reminds me of when my son got a new kitten. Every picture was a blur or the image of a tail going off the side of the picture. What fun for you; darling little dress too. My girlfriend and I went to an alpaca show to see the alpacas. They are so cute, but not all that friendly, although we did manage to pet a few. Their eyes are so pretty.

My neighbour brought over a Santa hat and "collar" to put on our cats. Bud had it on first, and he looks totally ticked, or embarrassed. He wouldn't move. Just laid there like a log.... Then I put it on Roxie. She is swatting at Bud's head, as if to tell him not to laugh at her!

The pipe looks like a Viking to me (Leif Erikson to be exact, LOL).

My Dads family was from what use to be East Germany, very near the border with Poland. At times they were considered to be in Poland. A hundred years ago the borders were more flexible.
They seem to be a stern family. My Grandfather was in his mid 20's when he came here in 1913. He never learned very much English so I never really had a conversation with him. Kids were seen and not heard. Us grandkids had to be serious around him. If somone cracked a joke and we laughed he'd get angry and think we were laughing at him. It's a miracle that my Dad grew up to be as normal as he is.

Thanks, Lydia. You're right. "I've always had a thing for men with beds" can have a whole different meaning than, "I've always had a thing for men with BEARDS!" LOL.

when all of those old family pictures were taken the people were told not to smile that is why you very very seldom see anyone smile on them
