The Kitchen Table

I need help posting pics, please....

The old woman living in my house has really screwed things up and she's got me all muddled...LOL!!

I've been trying to post pics from Photobucket and now I've got 3 of the same pic in my preview message. I can't make them go away so that I can start over.

How can I delete all this and get a fresh start?

Thanks, Mallory....but I'm still not having any luck. I noticed that all my Photobucket HTML codes start with this and that's the part that is rejected....(I hope you can figure it out because it won't let me post it correctly without interfering with my message)....

When I saw that and backspaced over it, I was able to get a picture, but I also got the ones I'd been messing with trying to get it right. I still can't make it all go away, so that I can post one message and one pic.

What have I done?? What shall I do???

Thanks for any help you can give me on this,

Leslie/KS

Hi Grice, it's nice to see your around. I know you don't recognize this name but you know me as naturelover_MTL. I've changed my name to match my website... Anyhow, the previous instructions were right on but I'll also add my two cents worth... For photos to show directly on the page, write out your line like this: The above is an example to help you understand how it works, but it needs a tiny modification to make it happen. When you write it out, you must remove the space after the I only added them because I don't want to activate the code. If I remove the spaces, the browser will take it as an instruction to go ahead and display a photo.. So remove the spaces when you're ready to try it out. ----- For example, for your photo to be displayed directly on this page, the html line would have to be written like this: The http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd227/dandersongrice/10_29_20071_57PM_0001.jpg is the url (web address/location) of your photo. The rest of the wording tells the browser what to do/display on this page. When I remove the spaces after the , the code is activated and the photo should display below: Try it out!

Jaime... If you already have a photobucket account it is real easy. When you upload your pics from your computer, don't use the largest size; a nice size is "max image size: 640 x 480". Once you set it to upload to a specific size, it will default to that until you change it. After uploading, click on the HTML TAG line (the second or middle one). A little yellow box that says "copied" will appear for a moment. Then go over to your Hosta Forum window and paste wherever you want your photo. It's much easier if you can have two browser windows open at the same time. My browser has tabs...easier yet so you can go back and forth between GW Hosta Forum and Photobucket with ease. You can paste many pictures as you wish within a single "message". I usually type a brief description of the picture on the line before it. Then, click on "preview message". If you can then see your photo in your post, we will see it also. Here's a picture for inspiration. My hosta's revenge...A hosta planted in the cavity of a decaying Norway Maple... Give it a try...if you don't succeed on the first try, we'll help you until you do! Char

Drains and vent pipe is an issue, as are the fuse boxes you can't block, and that's a nice arrangement in many ways. You can easily triple the storage capacity of that area: With shelving - go all the way to the ceiling with it. The top-most shelf can be deeper than the others if you size it to fit light-weight but large items, like packs of toilet tissue or stockpots. 1 - Install a shallow set of shelves (4 or 6") across the back of the closet, above the tallest adult's shoulder level. Hang a folding step stool below the shelves. Use as pantry 2 - Add shelves above the current sets, so you aren't stacking boxes like the previous owner. That's prime storage space for the things you don't use every day, like huge pots 3 - Find a roll-out cart that can hold at least two laundry baskets and store it between the appliances. That should give you plenty of ideas.

I use Photobucket.com, siging up was free. I log-in to Photobucket then I upload a picture from my computer to Photobucket. When it has loaded onto photobucket, I hover over the picture with my mouse until a little box pops up with links. I click the HTML link and the computer automatically saves the link. Then, I go back to GW (usually I just keep it up on another window) and CTRL-V into my post. --- Not sure if that is enough info to help, but that is all I know! There are some really great tutorials floating around here. That is how I learned. Hopefully someone will post one. Good luck!

That part opens the tag command. You can take it out, including the Photobucket part of it. That's the portion that follows
Delete up to the part that starts with
And then delete the closing part of the tag at the very end,

This is one of the images in my Photobucket account. I just posted the whole HTML Code line and it didn't reject any of it. I'm not sure why you had that problem, but to start over right click inside the message box and hit your delete key.

Is it possible you're missing part of the HTML Code line? When left click on the line, it will automatically copy for you to your clipboard, so you don't have to try doing it manually.

Thanks again, Mallory! I got a pic posted but I guess I opened up my whole album, which I didn't mean to do. I don't know why I've had such trouble. I don't post pics often, but I never had this problem before.

I just left click on the html code and it always worked before...it says "copied" and then I right click and paste it into the URL box.

PS: I don't know what "clipboard" refers to, although I know it exists in computer land...ha!

You're a nut! The clipboard is where stuff goes when you cut or copy. It keeps it there so you can paste the stuff wherever you want. Glad you got it all worked out.

"In computer land."
hahahahaha
