DON'T BE NERVOUS! This may sound complicated the first time but once you've done it you'll see it's easy and fun. You'll be posting pictures every time you visit the forum! First of all, you need an account on a photo sharing site where you can store some pictures. You can't link directly to photos in your computer so you need to have them on a 'photo hosting site'. Photobucket is the one I use the most and I think it's very, very easy, but Picasa, Kodak Gallery, and several other sites work just as well, I'm sure. These sites all have free accounts available and so you can start posting photos today without any expense. Cool, huh? So, once you have the account set up, follow the instructions for uploading pictures from your computer. You can add them one at a time, or upload several at once. Don't worry about losing them. You are just copying them to Phtoobucket and you'll keep them on your computer. Besides being able to share them, it's also a good backup for your most precious pictures. To add a photo directly into your forum message, click once on the line under the photo that's labeled HTML Code. Then go to your message in the Forum and paste it into your text message. It will show up just as text until you hit the "Preview Message" button. Then the picture should show up. If it doesn't, check to be sure you selected the HTML Code line instead of one of the others. You can add as many pictures to a single message as you want, but if you do more than 3 or 4 it gets very slow to open for people who use dial up. Here's a good thing to understand: your picture doesn't really get transferred to GardenWeb. What happens is that the HTML code is telling GardenWeb (with magic computer instructions) where to go in Photobucket to find the photo AND it's also telling it to display the photo. If you delete the photo or even move it in Photobucket to a different album, GardenWeb will still have the old instructions and won't be able to find it. The link will be broken. If you edit the picture in Photobucket, making it smaller or adding a border, that will show up the next time someone looks at the message in GardenWeb. The real picture stays in Photobucket - GardenWeb just temporarily imports it each time someone opens your post. I hope that makes sense. Another good thing to know is that you can make pictures smaller in Photobucket by resizing them but you can't make them bigger again. If you go too small, you'll have to reload the photo from your computer as a new picture. About albums: When you first set up your account, you'll see where you can "Add a new album". Since you won't want to move photos later (because you'll break the link), it's a good idea to set up a few albums right away. I suggest one for Home (house pictures), one for pets, one for garden, one for hobbies, one for vacations, etc. It's easy to add them at any time so they don't need to all be set up right away, but a couple are a good idea. Joe, your first step would be to upload your photos to a site like Photobucket or Flicker. Do you have an account at either of those? I use Photobucket, so I would base my directions on that fact. Under each photo at Photobucket there are four options for picture posting: 'email&IM,' 'direct link,' 'HTML code,' and 'IMG code.' You want to copy the line beside 'HTML code.' This can be accomplished simply by right-clicking the code line. Then come here and paste the copied code into the body of your message, and it will show up as a photo! Make sure, though, that the photos are resized to a maximum of 640x480. The electricians are wiring for lights today. We had a consultation with the lighting guy earlier in the week. Overall we are going with his recommendations, but I wanted some input on pendants. I am torn between two options: - Put two large pendants over island, and a collection of minis over the table area - Put about 5 minis over the island and one large one over the table. (Third option - use all minis, two different styles and configurations) I really like these for the large; they are classic, maybe a little boring (confirmed boring - just saw that Maxim calls them "builder basic") The problem is they are 16" in diameter, which would probably be too big for the island (8.5' x 30"), even using only two. Lighting guy suggested minis over island and one large over table. This one from Hinkley is 10"; not exactly like the one above but maybe a little more interesting? With these, I would probably use three on the island These are some of the minis I am considering Clarity by WAC Eden by WAC Atlantis by WAC If we put minis over the island, I was thinking of something like this, four or five in a line If we did this, any of the three minis would work. If we put minis over the table, I was picturing them like this, six or seven grouped on a circular plate and hung at different levels If we did this, I think Clarity would work best (though the more I look at these stars, the more I like them). I'd love to hear opinions, or suggestions for lights you think might look good in the space. I don't have any pictures that would really give a good idea of what we are doing, but here is the layout. The light over the table would be in line north to south with the edge of the door on the north wall; in line west to east with the lower corner of the pantry bumpout The rest of the kitchen will be recessed, all on one switch. FYI -- the second island will be moving south (maybe to Florida if the weather doesn't get better soon!); there will be about 38" between islands; no pendants over smaller one Thanks for your thoughts!

That part opens the tag command. You can take it out, including the Photobucket part of it. That's the portion that follows Delete up to the part that starts with And then delete the closing part of the tag at the very end, This is one of the images in my Photobucket account. I just posted the whole HTML Code line and it didn't reject any of it. I'm not sure why you had that problem, but to start over right click inside the message box and hit your delete key. Is it possible you're missing part of the HTML Code line? When left click on the line, it will automatically copy for you to your clipboard, so you don't have to try doing it manually.
