I've done it once and that was enough for me. Getting pushed and shoved isn't worth saving a few bucks. It's sad how rude some people can get. I do the bulk of my shopping online and get some great deals there.

No, I'm not a black Friday shopper. I worked in retail years ago and even though it wasn't a 5 AM opening or anything, still remember those hoards of people, cured me ;)

I do a lot of Amazon for children, gifts cards for only a few adults - we don't go overboard on Christmas any more.

Though I'll be able to see the Outlet Connection Mall from our hotel, I've been there exactly once the morning after Thanksgiving. That year my brother and his wife were going to California for Christmas, and knowing her habit of leaving everything (including mailing if needed) til Christmas Eve, I dragged her to that mall the morning after Thanksgiving and made her do her Christmas shopping. List in hand, I felt like a general barking orders :) Then we took things to my sisters house and wrapped - but it's never happened again.

Nope, too many crazy people out there! And some of them won't mind causing you serious bodily injury or even killing you to get the "prize". There isn't anything that I need or want to risk that.

Most of the "sales" are actually jacked up a few weeks or maybe a couple months earlier so they can mark them down for these so called "sales". (saw this on the news this morning) There are already people in tents outside Best Buy here. These people are seriously crazy.

If you know of something you want that's going to be on sale take the time to look them up online and check the price. Amazon is a good place to check and usually there are other places listed right under the Amazon listing where you may find them for the "sale" price.

I looked up a couple of things today and found them for the "sale" price.
Regular price $99.99, on sale for $49;99. One of them at Sears which is a lot closer and no going at the crack of dawn. I can also have it mailed to me if I like.

I can't drive any more and there is NO WAY my daughter would drive me at that hour. I raised her to have more sense than that. LOL

Once my daughters got to be teens I asked them if they would rather get wrapped presents under the tree of get MORE things for half price on the day after Christmas sales. We got a lot more stuff at the after Christmas sales! There weren't as many crazies back then either ~ over 40 years ago. Plus the stores only opened an hour early back then.

No.... Christmas Shopping is done and half wrapped. I am height challenged and have a disadvantage at crowded shopping scenes unless you want an elbow in your crotch!

Never shopping- I sleep in Friday, then do something relaxing or pleasant later in the day. One year, we bought tickets for Broadway and took our kids to see Patrick Stewart acting in A Christmas Carol.

I have no plans to go, but if I do, it will be after the rush at opening and only to a couple of stores in the mall. I won't set foot in WalMart or Best Buy. The past couple of years I've ordered some things online.

Online. Maybe even on cyber Monday.

Instead, mom and I will be off duing the week early in Deceber, and might go to a mall (and visit Charming Charlie!), followed by going out to lunch. That'll be as close to shopping in person as we get. During work day, early in the month, will insure it won't be elbow to elbow.

I hate shopping period so Black Friday is the worst thing for me. I may do some grocery shopping but that's it.

Gift purchases are made when I'm out and about but that's about it. I usually buy most things online.

I'll be at the largest mall in the country....King of Prussia.
Have lunch, mostly just browse and enjoy the decorations.

I haven't shopped a Black Friday in years. I hate the way people act at those "sales".

And I am in that number that thinks being open on Thanksgiving isn't necessary. I can remember as a kid, we waited from the middle of November until the day after Thanksgiving for the three big department stores to let their curtains down and light up the holiday display! It was always great fun.

No one was open on Thanksgiving then and if you forgot something, you got along without it.

No way! I value my life too much. I think it is plain crazy....people acting like wild animals that just got out of their cages. There are sales all year long and I shop all year long.

I went with my daughter once and said, never again...She said, we'll go early and be back before anyone else gets there, NOT....Off we go, neither dressed for company, me spilling my coffee on my sweat shirt and her with no makeup...We get to Kmart and everyone and their brother was there...All our neighbors and we came around a corner, pushing our full buggy and there was a camera taking our picture...Sure enough, on the front page of the afternoon paper, there we were in all our finery for all the world (or surrounding areas) to see.....Never again!

I'm thinking of going to IKEA. Not so much for their sales - although I'll take any discounts they offer - but we need some stuff for our new house, and Friday might be the best day for me to go in terms of our schedule.

Because only in American, people trample others for sales exactly one day after being thankful for what they have.

Some people love to shop so this must be the ultimate shopping. I dread shopping any time.

I know the doorbuster sales are worth it if you are willing and able to sleep in a tent to be one of the first to get in. I had a friend who got a wonderful deal on a television that way. It was worth it to her on her budget and she was young enough for the whole experience to be fun.

Most items, though, aren't that much better of a price to compensate for the craziness.

There is nothing -- NOTHING -- I need or want enough to warrant getting into a mob scene just to save a few dollars. (Well...maybe if Tiffany's had a half-off sale on top-of-the-line items. No, I'd probably need to buy a gun to try that.)

I'll start writing checks to charities the day after Thanksgiving -- and feeling darn grateful that I can.

I haven't shopped on Black Friday in years. I was a latecomer when we did go. I'll probably do a majority of my shopping on-line. I was looking at sales this morning and found a nice, leather coat for dh. It had good reviews and was real leather. I can return it locally if needed.

No way, I hate shopping. My shopping is done, wrapped & ready to mail. Was finished in August this year.

Nothing special out there for me. And rarely shop on line. Stay home and make 300 cookies.

Never in my life went out on black Friday. Don't plan to start now.

I'm old enough to remember when department stores were closed on Sundays, and open only one evening each week -- all other days they closed by 6:00 p.m. We managed to "make do" with those hours, so I see absolutely no need whatsoever to get involved in crazy Black Friday "events."
