Does anyone have info on Medicaid and the drawdown provisions. My Dad and step-mom need long-term skilled care and I'm trying to get them from MI to here (MD). The courts will be appointing a Guardian in a couple of weeks. A temporary guardian has been appointed and she is submitting all of the paperwork. The problem - they have a house that probably won't sell since the housing market in MI is so poor. What happens if the sale if the house doesn't happen right away. They need the care - he's altzheimers and she had a stroke suddenly last January. She was his caretaker and there is no other family there to take care of them. I can't afford the cost of nursing home care on my own. Is there anything that can be done to get Medicaid assistance while the house is on the market?
Thanks for any help...
