I can't believe I did this!

Well, I work at a grocery store, which is a very dangerous thing for a frugal nut like me. We marked down all our fresh turkeys (Butterball and store brand) to .59 a lb. today, and I just had to go and buy one of the Butterballs. Only about 12 lbs., and only cost $7 and a few pennies, but WHAT THE HECK AM I GONNA DO WITH IT?

My freezer is as close to full as you can get. I'm going to have to clean out the fridge, take some stuff out of the freezer that doesn't necessarily have to be in there (rice, grains, stuff like that that we store in the freezer down here to keep bugs out), and then I'm still going to have to piece it out to get it in there.

I figure I'll cut off the leg quarters, wings, and debone the breast and freeze them all separately, then make a big soup stock out of the rest.

I do not have a clue why I make so much work for myself. Here I was saying I don't even like turkey, but .59 a lb! I just had to have it. At least this way, I can cook and eat it a little at a time, and don't have to eat leftovers for days and days.

A neighbor might have some room or an extra freezer.
Hope you're able to store it without having to cut it up first.

You can send it to me..... I love turkey. LOL do you have a meat grinder? You could make turkey burgers.

Just shake the bottles and see if you get either a clear liquid in the cases where the product is a true solution or a uniform milky liquid in the case where the product is an emulsion. True solutions, like the millls liquifeed, will always be restablished by shaking and there should be no concern at all with these. Some of your fungicides are emulsions and occasionally it can be hard to reestablish an emulsion when one breaks down but I would expect all of your products will be perfectly usable.

I suspect everybody who has ever sewn has cut on the seam-line. The aggravation usually does a good job of reminding one to take care next time :) I don't know if it's any help, but I lay out *all* the pieces in place on dressmaker's tracing material. Some folks use flannel and if you make a 'quilting wall', flannel is great, but I started with material and just stayed with that because it's lightweight - and I already had it on hand. I taped 2 cardboard tubes (empty from gift paper) end-to-end making the tube about 7 ft long, and then taped one end of the tracing material to that; everything is rolled up when I'm not actually working on the project. I lay out the quilt to be sure the colors are balanced overall, but a side benefit is that all the pieces are in the right place... forgetting to cut mirror-images shows up right away.

hehe how funny! now he will start expecting it!! Last Christmas I sorta made the same mistake. At a party at my SIL's I was standing next to relatives and friends at a breakfast bar. We were talking about hair, lots or not, if I recall correctly. I had met a college football player earlier that evening who shaved his head and to make a long story short, I ended up doing a nuggie on his bald head as he sat at the bar. I shocked myself but we were all at least laughing. Needless to say I still found myself embarrassed upon meeting him again at a graduation this month. He said he was going to join the New York Jets (as a defensive lineman I think). OMG, that's one big guy to be handing out nuggies too. I'm getting a chuckle out of it at least. Life can be so funny.

I thought about grinding it, but don't have a grinder. It really works out better for me, since I'm alone, to divide it up. I'm happy I got the bargain, and it will give me one more thing to do on Monday, my day off, but hey, it's worth it.

I think I'm going to look into a meat grinder, though, because if I had one, I'd probably have bought a bigger turkey.

LOL! I always buy two when they're on sale like this, and save one in the freezer for January. I can't justify NOT spending the $$.
