Decorating plastic box-help needed

My soon to be 5 year old granddaughter loves crafts and for her birthday I bought a lot of supplies such as foam sheets, pipe cleaners, glitter glue etc etc. I also bought a nice plastic carrying case for her to store her supplies in and would like to decorate the clear plastic top. How would I apply her name and maybe some polka dots using some kind of paint. 1)what kind of paint? 2) since I am a bit artistically challenged how could I do her name and have it look even and neatly done. Thanks in advance.

You can pick up foam core letters in all colors or the stick on letters. I have used the stick on ones to put cute names on plastic tumblers for parties. There's so many different stickers available you can really decorate it up.
Then if she ever decided to change it they can be removed. Better than paint. I have bought them at Walmart and the hobby stores big sheets of them.

Raven, thanks for the suggestion. I didn't even think about stick on letters. For some reason I just thought of paint and wasn't sure I could do a neat enough job of it. I will go back to the craft store and look for bright patterned letters. Thanks! Satine

Yeah - I thought it was pretty interesting when I read the "tip" last Fall. And I figured it was worth the investment in a package of seeds to experiment! I planted the seeds right after Halloween, and then added a fresh layer of compost to the raised bed. It seems like I only got 50% germination of the seeds. But then - this was a pretty long hard winter. Next fall, I'll probably plant spinach in most of my raised beds. We love spinach. Anything we won't eat fresh, I'll freeze for use all year long. And I really like the idea of getting 2 crops out of 1 raised bed. Kinda like doubling your production!

HELP! Brizo fixtures are plastic - need suggestions

Update: I went back to the showroom today to return all the Brizo parts. I was hopping mad after being told I would have to pay a 25% restocking fee. However, once I arrived the rep said she spoke to Brizo and they were going to waive the fee (good thing because there was no way in the hot place I was going to pay it). Anyhoo... She showed me that the plastic I was seeing on the valve bodies is to protect the cartridges during installation and will come off after tile is complete. Even she was surprised at the poor quality of the shower heads. They really are dreadful - I've seen nicer on the shelf at Walmart - seriously! I decided to keep the valves and handles which are nicely made, heavy metal and do what I need them to do. I returned the plastic shower heads. We searched the showroom for non-plastic shower heads. Even most of Grohe's heads are plastic now! I was able to find two that will work. The shower head is a Jado Hatteras shower head 842/083 and the hand held is Brizo Vesi wall mount hand shower RP41202. I was not able to see either in person in the chrome finish but I have been assured they will be all metal. Next up - marble slab shopping tomorrow wheeee!

"1) Could I run a 2x4 horizontally between the studs and attach the box through the bottom of the box so that it is still vertical?" Yes, fasten the box through the back, bottom or side as you prefer. Watch for not blocking the cable entry that needs to be used. Watch that the combination of 2 x 4 plus the box does not result in the box protruding too far from the wall. Use two 2 x 4, one above the box and one below, and old work boxes if necessary. See the link. Use the one-screw ear for the two 2 x 4 plan Page A6 at the link. It offers more adjustment. Boxes at Page A8 and following. Use #4 x 5/8 flat head tapping screws in the ear holes to hold it to the 2 x 4s. "3) Would it be possible to use a very flat head Phillips screw?" I prefer pan head inside the box as they offer less change of conductor insulation damage from sharp edges. If all this is not yet understandable, hire a pro. I would say we have a very similar weather pattern to London, but I bring my Agaves inside for winter. We had one big variegated one, too big to carry indoors, which lost all its leaves to frost the winter before last. We kept the plant where it was, and it grew lots of new shoots in the following summer. Helas, at the beginning of this year it didn't withstand another frosty winter and it completely died.

I was going to suggest the same thing Raven did. I'm not a crafter but I've seen the foam letters etc. at Walmart.

Sticky Dots come in colors too. Put the extras in the box.

If her name isn't too long you could glue, rhinestones or beads on the top spelling out her name. My grand daughter has done something like that. Girls never have enough boxes. They are great for storing jewelry, hair accessories, or other treasures inside.

All finished and it looks great. I bought colored stickers to spell out "Clare's Crafts" diagonally on the box with felt flowers and butterflies to match scattered around her name. I am so pleased with it and Im sure she will love it. Next project is to figure out how to post pictures! Thanks again for all your advise.. Satine
