he wasn't talking in line, so he gets milder punishment

My poor DS--he's having a really rough elementary school career.

He's in a Catholic school, and he seems to do nothing but write, write, write. I don't mean *composition*--I mean "copying the question before you write the answer"; "writing lines for punishment"; "copying the religion/science/social studies notes from the board."

So today, he has to write lines for punishment. 50 of them. Because the class was talking in line. So everybody gets lines to write.

DH (who is home in the afternoons w/ the kids) tells me DS didn't ahve to write as many--the other kids got 250. I said, "Oh, is the teacher making an accommodation for him?" (DS has been diagnosed w/ inattentive ADHD, and gets extra time here and there; and writing is a big trigger for him, which is why this school is SO hard.)

No, he got fewer lines because the teacher saw that HE WASN'T TALKING!

I was saying, "What?"" and DH said, you'll have to have DS explain to you. This will be interesting to hear, what the teacher's reasoning was.
