I let Sandie know you all were sending more prayers and special thoughts and this is her reply. What a very long day for both of them.....

Hi Lan, thank you and the Prayer Warriors. Jim is doing well. It was a long day. They called twice to change the time because the Dr. had a major emergency. We finally were told to come in at 4:30 and he was in Pre Op by 5:30. There was one other patient that was there before us and was waiting for our Doctor. So Jim finally went in at 8 and the surgery took about 45 minutes. We got home about 10. I was really praying for Jim and the Doctor. I know that Doctor had to be tired. But prayers answered. Jim is feeling some pain where the put the port in but it is manageable. He is taking a nap right now. We see the Oncologist on Thursday and will get the results from the PET Scan that they did last week and see what he thinks about Chemo. Please thank them at the KT. I have had a hard time just getting on the computer today. It says to reboot,but I don't have a clue what that means. Thank you again,and take care. Love, Sandie

(I explained to Sandie how to reboot.)

I asked her to let me know about next week and I'll pass along any info. she gives me. Thank you dear friends.

Thank you so much, Slinkey. Tuesday was a great day ;) DD, well, I actually finished the English classes with the "mad" teacher at the end of June and started a new one with a "normal" teacher at the same time ; these classes were great and interesting and fortunately, I didn't hear stupid things about the Anglo-Saxons any more ;) Well, if I didn't met so many nice, skilled, smart friends, I wouldn't have been able to put all together - you were my inspiration in writing and your pictures are the dresses of the pages. Before getting to this forum, my house was so ugly and then I met you all and got some ideas on how to improve it. First thing was to buy new furniture for the living room and everyone who comes to my home tells me that they really like it as it is now - without you, I wouldn't have done anything! Indeed, Squidoo is a great resource on many things such as Halloween but I don't think it could compete against the brains that live in this forum! The teacher told my that I passed the exam with success. I'm not really satisfied by the result but whenever I take an exam, my brain gets empty within seconds and it's almost impossible mission to remember something.

Thanks, Annie. OMG Dedtired, that must be a drift!? That's actually scary. We had a similar issue around here with a big sledding hill. PO let everyone sled, next owner said no way. I can't say I blame them, but we court liability all the time with tons of kids in and around our pond and pool. That's what they are for, kwim? We do hire lifeguards from the Y though. And cross our fingers a lot. KSWL - too bad, i like the phrase "pole barn". As for your question --- reality intrudes. No, it only gets to about 62 in there. We selected a Jotul based on the mfrs spec for room size but it doesn't do the job. Actually, the Jotul is supposed to heat quite a larger room than ours. I think all of that stone retains so much cold, plus the high ceiling. Doesn't help that most of the stove is recessed in the firebox, either. The good news is the vendor will switch it out and we have plenty of room for a bigger one. Now, can we go back to fun talk? : )

Lana,thank you so much for posting.I just couldn't come here before tonight. Jim came through the surgery like the trooper that he is.He is home already.They kept him for a few hours then let him come home.He says that he can feel the difference in both legs already.The doctor was pleased how well it went and how well he is responding.Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers.You know how much I believe in and count on prayers. I know that a lot of you know the pain that we are feeling with our loss of Sandy. I am just thankful that she was not home alone while she was leaving us.She gave us 14 wonderful years and she is now at rest.

Thank you, Lois. Beverly, My three tops were mailed out this afternoon. Linda (quiltnhen) The strips came from a jelly roll but I don't remember where I got it from. Should I do that pattern again, I'll make the side triangls from a very large square and cut corner to corner so there won't be a bias on the outside! Please excuse any typos as my eyes are still dilated from being at the opthamologists......he's sending me to a cornea specialist. SharonG/FL

Thank you, Granlan. I'm so sorry Sandie and Jim are suffering through this and hope his doctors can bring him some comfort. I'll keep them in my prayers.
