FL get togethers times and places?

I need some input on the places and times.

Feb. 10 Tampa get together. Barbara I need a time that you could meet at the restaurant. Also I can't remember the name of the restaurant we have gone to before. Do we need a reservation since it is in the evening?

Feb. 12 Patti, I need an address and also a phone number. Please email me at runvswing@hotmail.com Also what time would you like us to be at your house?

Feb. 13 Sandie, I found the address for Whistle Junction but didn't find anything about the hours. I am assuming they open around 11.

Feb. 13 Ann, where would you suggest that we meet? Also what time? I am thinking around 4ish. We have a reservation at the Marriott Courtyard for that night. I also need some way to contact you.

Feb. 14 Marion, give me an address for my GPS and a time.

If there is anyone else in any of these areas please let me know. We will be staying at my cousin's in Dade City and will be about 13 miles from Brooksville. Sunshine if you see this we would like to meet with you also.

Nita - I'm sooooo excited! I get out of work at 5 so I could be there (or anywhere) by 6 or so. Would you want to go to Cody's Original Roadhouse or would you like to try something different? Is Timm going to join us?

May be a good time for a late May or early June get together-swap-now that the Amaryllis is finished blooming,our gardens are weeded (sort of) and we are more in control of all the green stuff.(I use the collective "we " -actually my garden never let's me get finished-it is always-like life itself-a work in progress) If anyone out there wants to get into the idea of a swap-let me know-(if you can tear yourself away from the garden catalogue and scrape the mud off your face)...might be educational-AND fun.Always nice to get free stuff!and meet nice gardeners,

Best place to shop for meat in Naples, FL?

I've been in Naples a number of times, but I don't cook down there. Obviously Whole Foods and Fresh Market have meat, but the prices will be well above Publix prices. Publix is my go-to place for meat, but I'll admit I eat very little of it. Remember when pink slime was an issue? I talked to the head of the meat department in our biggest Publix. He said the reason Publix has higher prices on meat than say, Winn Dixie, was that they have never used pink slime and would never use it. Publix is always willing to open packages so the consumer can buy smaller quantities. If there is ever a problem, bring it back. You don't need to explain. They will refund you money. That's why Publix dominates the grocery market in FL. Look around when you get there. I googled and there seems to be an upscale butcher shop here called .... Jimmy P's butchershop and deli. Can't attest to it, but their website is good. Just keep in mind that Naples is a way-up-scale place and anywhere you go, prices are going to be fairly high.

Thank you all for replying. It will be great to meet new folks and renew friendships with those who I have met before. Patti, how about getting together on Friday the 12th? I haven't heard from Joan. Since we will have Friday free we could come and visit you in Ocala. Name a place and time and we will be there with bells on. Monablair please let me know when you find out if you will be coming. I have talked to both Barbara and Sharon and they will be coming. Probably will be at the same restaurant as before. Renee, we will only have to spend one night in a hotel and that will be in Melbourne so I don't think we will have to worry. It looks like we will be spending Friday at my cousin's house and will head for Titusville on Saturday morning. We still need to find a restaurant and decide on a time. You gals going to Titusville have any ideas. Sandie since you live there can you make a suggestion? Liz, do you think you could meet us in Titusville on Saturday around 11 or so? I sure would love to meet you. Hopefully you can work us into your busy schedule. Anne we will be spending the night in Melbourne so can meet with you in the evening or very late afternoon. Need to have travel time from Titusville. Looking forward to meeting you. Marion and April, could we meet around noon on Sunday the 14th? You name the place and we will be there. Nothing expensive but want to have time to visit. Carol and I will head back to Ft. Myers after our get together. This is going to be so much fun. Carol and I are looking forward to meeting each of you. I hope that these plans fit into everyone's schedules.

Oops, better scratch that tongue sushi off my menu--hah! Have to find something else to go with the kumquat-rutabaga casserole!! LOL!
