Get Organized: A Place for Your Purse
Stop looking for your purse! Give it a special shelf, hook or nook and you won't have to hunt it down again
Is your purse collection stuffed under bed in storage bins? Or do you easily lose track of your everyday purse, throwing it over a chair or putting it down somewhere in haste only to be covered up by the day's coats and jackets? It may be time to equip your home with two things: proper long-term purse storage, and a dedicated home for your most commonly used purse.
Like your keys, purses have a habit of going wayward, and you’ll save a lot of time and energy keeping them corralled. Check out the following photos for some ideas. Leaving the house will become that much easier when your purse is easily at hand.

Keep your purse handy but out of sight by installing a hook in a small nook, or inside a cabinet near the front or garage door.
You know that top rack of your closet? Instead of hanging t-shirts you rarely wear, hang up your purse collection. It keep your purses in much better shape than stuffing them in bins, and making them accessible and in view will remind you what you have.
Shelving units are a go-to solution for folded clothing, books and knickknacks; why not purses? If you’ve got a great collection and love looking at them, stock up your shelves. It keeps your purses handy and gives your space a colorful splash.
Purses are pretty, so it’s fine to keep them in sight. Glass shelves are ideal as they won’t distract your focus from the purses, allowing you to make the perfect choice.
Of course, not all of our purse collections are so ample that we need such significant storage. If you’re looking to organize a few, hooks are the ultimate, most affordable answer. Hooks are a purse’s best friend and can go nearly anywhere. Hang a few on the back of your closet door and your purses will no longer end up on the floor.
Even accordion-style doors can serve as purse storage. If they’re not thick enough for hooks that require nails, use those with heavy-duty adhesives instead.
We all know how easy it is to lose clutches. Those little things slip behind anything, and they’re gone until the cat drags it out. Avoid this by corralling them in a basket. You’ll always know where to find them, and just where to drop them at the end of the day.
Hey, if your purses are as pretty as these, use them as décor. Place them on a desk or incorporate them into a vignette. You’ll never lose track of them, and your space will be that much prettier.
Now to solve the problem of the lost everyday bag. It’s so often that we sweep into the house after errands or whatnot and unknowingly throw our purse into the ether. Avoid this by creating a home for your purse where you drop it the second you walk in; hooks next to the front door are the perfect solution. Add an extra hook for your car keys while you’re at it.
A small storage unit or shelves of some sort will also do the trick. Once you get in the habit of placing your purse there everyday, you won’t think to put it anywhere else.
Purses also seem to get lost in the shuffle at the end of the day, when everyone is heading upstairs to call it a night. Unless you need your purse in your bedroom, install some hooks at the base of the stairs so you can drop it there on your way up. This way, you avoid it become an elusive enigma by morning.
