Prayers for Sharon in FL

I recieved this email from Sharon this morning. With her permission I share it with you now. Please send positive thoughts her way.

"Things have been nervewracking here-took hubby to the VA's ER on Tuesday morning-they admitted him-he came home Fri and is NOT as good as he was when he went in..acute bronchitis on top of his emphysema (sp?) & COPD. He can't walk more than 5' without gasping. He's doing a nebulizer 4x a day &9 other meds. Afraid it's all downhill from here-hopefully I'm wrong.

I've been trying to clean from the animal deal-got alot done yesterday & 1 more room to go today. [A wild animal crawled into her home and died leaving an aweful stench. They had to stay with a neighbor for a while.] No time to play furniture..waaah! [Her grandaughter's dream bedroom, remember?] "

Beverly, I feel for your parents neighbors. This has to be so difficult for them. Possibly the organs could go to a university for just this reason. Didn't your MIL have a few tests recently? I talked to Wendy yesterday and she's feeling good. We also talked with Jonathan's wife and he's doing ok except for having headaches all the time and meds don't seem to help. We plan on going down to visit with them the end of February, the week-end after I get back from MN. I have a new request. My DD3's friend is a very private person and has told nobody (not even her parents) that she's doing radiation. She had surgery a couple weeks ago on her back and also throat. She told everyone that the biopsies came back ok, but now this. My DD found out only because my DD is also her boss and called her on time missed at work. DD is supposed to find out more this week as Sandie was not able to talk about it yet. I can't imagine not knowing if one of my girls was having to go thru this. Possibly the radiation is precautionary?????? Anyway, please keep her in your prayers. SharonG/FL

Beverly, What a time your family has had! You're all in my prayers. Your parents neighbors will have to begin a whole new routine in their lives, but now they'll be able to take some time for themselves and get some much deserved rest....they served their daughter well. Julie has been concerned about being able to get back to the hospital where Raina will be when she wants to without having to wait for the transportation dept to bring her a wheelchair. Wendy got to work on that yesterday and we have one at no charge for however long Julie needs it, so she can rest her mind about that. Even though they are in separate hospitals, the hospitals are connected by tunnels (for the personnel) and overhead covered walkways, but it takes a least 10 minutes at a good pace to just reach the hospital, and then have to get to where you want to go. Julie and I were talking the other day and thought they should install those moving walk things they have in the larger airports. @:) SharonG

Valarie, No hurry on getting the blocks mailed. Whenever is fine. :-) Not sure if it was a malfunction. The thing is sensitive to vibration and since his bike isn't top-of-the-line but more of a cobbled bit of fun, it was probably the motorcycle that set it off or the road or trucks passing or.......who knows! No chain-sawing either. Taking care of me......I didn't realize all the energy it takes just being concerned and trying to make things easier for him. It unnerves him to fill his pill box so I do that for him and wash his vest and help him put it on......he's always been very good at unhooking bras but putting them on is an adventure. LOL (TMI???) I've noticed my afternoon snoozes are turning into very long naps, so I guess at least I'm getting my rest. :-) Today is another day and we're both gearing up for it. He's already been out and about and I'm still on my first cup of coffee, in my robe and thinking about the Grand Illusion Mystery Quilt and clue 4. Life is good. SharonG/FL

Sharon--if you happen to have time to read this please know my thoughts are on you and your DH. I didn't know about the animal incident--that had to be awful, too.

Keep the faith. With rest and being home, your DH may get better. Sure hope so. ((((Sharon))))

Gee, thank you Sue for posting your kind thoughts-and to all of you for your good wishes!
DH seems somewhat better right now-but he hasn't done anything but walk from his bed to his chair at the table. Finally ate something last night-hasn't eaten more than 2 cups of food since last Friday! Hope it's a good sign of improvement. We go back to the Drs Thursday.
As for the animal thing..OMG! It permeated my entire house-for 8 days! I couldn't take it-pest control was here 5 different times to seek it out but it was above the vapor barrier under the house. Said odor would disspate in 3 more days (it was the 5th day then). I have been washing walls, linens,curtains, ALL of my clothes, carpets, etc., since last Monday then taking DH to hospital last Tues morning..I need a vacation! LOL!

Oh Sharon, you poor thing. You do need a vacation. I know that smell, and it is enough to make you make another mess. Try burning some incense. Prayers and good thoughts for DH. I hope he continues to improve.

I'm still sending positive thoughts your way, Sharon. I admire your energy level! It sounds like as soon as the problem with the dead animal is done then things will calm down a bit more? You do you need a vacation! Maybe your daughter could stay with your husband for an afternoon and give you some time to play?

Sharon, I'm sure you already know, but just in case... Be very careful what cleaning products you use around your DH in his condition. The scents/strong odors from them may contribute to his breathing problem. I am sure that the odor from the animal probably brought a lot of it on for him. And definitely don't use incense to cover the smell. In two seconds flat, he won't be able to breath at all. Incense is poisonous, acording to my dr., for anyone who has any type of breathing problem. We had to call the ambulance in church one Sunday durning Lent (Catholic Church) for an elderly lady. She got up to leave so she could get fresh air, and only made it two steps to the isle before passing out.

Thanks for the heads up on chemical use, but I've had to watch that for 4 yrs with him now. I kept a pot of steaming water with orange flavoring in it on the stove for several days & for the 3 days he was hospitalized-I scrubbed everything w/Odoban..real strong stuff but does the job! The Dr sent home a Nebulizer with him & he does treatments on it 4x a day.

mimi-boo..I've been married to him since 1999-undoubtedly one of the bigger mistakes in my life. I so wanted to split numerous times but he has not one other person on earth but me. With his health (plus alcoholism)-I just can't . I wouldn't do that to my worst enemy!
