What's for dinner Thursday?

Nothing for me tonight except another glass of water. I woke up at 2:30 this morning with a stomach virus. At least I'm assuming it is, since Harry and I both ate the same thing and he's fine. He'll have leftovers from last night or the bowl of chili left over from the other night.

McAllister's deli for their French Dip on a croissant with au jus! Yummy to the tummy!

Yikes! Sorry to hear that. I hope you feel better soon, Patti. We are having Hot Chicken Salad and warm rolls for dinner tonight. I feel guilty talking about food with you.

You need to share the citrus dressing recipe ; it sounds good. Fixed a good salad with mixed greens and all kinds of stuff, lol. Robert didn't want ginger dressing again, so I whipped up creamy green goddess type of concoction.....then put our leftover salmon from last night on top. I am going to have to get some asparagus!

Same as yesterday -- Various snacks, cheeses, hors d'oeuvres, mini sandwiches, chocolate-dipped fruits, and brownies at a Christmas party. Yesterday was a retirement party for the head of the University Library where I work, today was a shindig put on by a large realty firm at which friends of ours work.

Well, I woke up this morning and hubby had 2 pounds of ground beef and 1 pound of sausage thawing in the refrigerator. Cans of tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and tomato paste were on the kitchen counter next to the stove. I took a guess that was a pretty good hint that he was ready for another big pot of spaghetti sauce. We had a huge shrimp salad, spaghetti, and garlic bread.

Jasdip, we put a big pork butt on the grill over the weekend and enjoyed it with a pile of slaw. It's a full day commitment but seemed like a good Labor Day weekend project. Last night, I made a garlicky, gingery chicken stir fry with lots of fresh vegetables, served with brown rice and toasted almonds. I don't know why I don't make something like that more often, it's a favorite.

So sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I just had some cheese, crackers and a diet Coke. I seldom drink pop but I didn't start up the counter top ice maker, so no ice to make some iced tea. Will go looking at new refrigerators tomorrow. Get to feeling better Patti.

Mike's home, short vacation for me. LOL Mike is going to grill some steaks. I will make a salad and some mashed potatoes.

I grilled steelhead trout, Glenda's cole slaw and onion rings. VERY good! No dessert for me but David had some halloween candy, LOL.

I feel your pain Patti hope it is just a one day deal.

Today was my garden club ladies Thanksgiving lunch, one lady provided her home and the turkey and we all brought dishes. Every thing was wonderful. I made a Cole slaw that had mango, cherries, cranberry, walnuts chopped up in it. I was trying to recreate the great mango Cole slaw from Peli Peli. It was very good and luckily I have some left over for dinner.
Shrimp and pasta with French bread to go with it.

BLT's with homemade toasted bread. Tomatoes are still ripe so better get them used.

My daughter from out of state popped in for a couple of days. We were going to go to Amish country today with my youngest daughter, but she got an attack of vertigo late yesterday and is still very much out of it.

Since youngest couldn't go, the two of us just went to the local Ponderosa. I got their sirloin tips with mushrooms, baked potato and salad bar.

I hope you're much better very soon, patti.

We will be having ham steaks, mashed potatoes and fresh Brussels sprouts cooked with bacon and onion.
And sliced tomatoes.....we still have lots on the vine and a lot in the house.
I have made tomato sauce, salsa and even oven roasted tomatoes. Nothing better than homegrown tomatoes.

Sorry I didn't get back here last night to read all your good meals. Food + tummy = ick yesterday. Went to bed around 8 and slept until almost 7 this morning. I knew I was feeling better when I started to think about tonight's dinner and my weekly grocery list. I'm beginning to think it's something I'm allergic to and I suspect it's fresh tomatoes. I sure hope not, since I love them! But I had this same thing a month or so ago. Wasn't food poisoning because Harry didn't have it.
