You're right, they don't look so great without makeup. And the point of the show was that African Americans don't visit the National Parks enough. I watched Oprah today and it was great-they had 70's and 80's teen pop stars on-Shaun Cassidy, Jackie Jackson, The Backstreet Boys and Peter Frampton. I am too old for them-I idolized The Beatles. But the show was interesting, to see how teen singers grew up and what they look like today. Next Monday's show looks fantastic-Oprah talks with Katherine and Joe Jackson, Michael's parents, and even has some film of his three children. I'm liking her show a lot more these days.

I wanted to see it cause they were in Yosemite. It wasn't on because of the parade for the Giants.
The first part was really fun to watch. I'm sure they will show it again, I hope!

How can someone go thru life and not even make herself a piece of toast?? Oprah said that she's known Gayle for 30 years and she' never, ever cooked anything, not so much as a piece of toast.

Gayle did admit she is spoiled.

Hahaha who would ever think of cooking sea bass on a camping trip? Only Oprah. She was a good sport about the whole thing. Gayle complained the whole time fly-fishing but Oprah loved it.

I think Oprah had one of her famous "ah-ha" moments when she figured out she can still do things and survive on her own, even though she has people to do most things for her now.

Jannie, I like her shows this year, too. Too bad they end this month. There are several I'd like to see again. I think this is her best season in a long time.

Sorry you missed it, Jenni, but I'm hoping they run it again after her show is off. If anyone sees that it will be on, let us know--I missed the first part.

I love Yosemite National Park and we started camping there in 1968.....so many memories.
It was funny to see Oprah and Gayle camping. I wonder if Oprah will ever go camping again......our National Parks are beautiful.
I would love to go fly fishing someday.

the show was entertaining. the comment about gayle's cooking was that "she (gayle) had never cooked anything for oprah" since they had been friends. the first show about the adventure was good also. oprah gave away the suv and camper to folks they met at the park.

Oh I wish I had seen it! We went to California and didn't have time to go to Yosemite this past summer. It would be fun to see the park and Oprah fishing.

There were, maybe still are a few people around here that can't cook. An old boyfriends dad for example, I don't think he knew much more than boiling water. Crazy, I know!
I moved here from California, didn't know a soul there that didn't at least know something about cooking (I'm sure there are some but I didn't know them) anyway came here to Nebraska and actually met up with people, mostly men that didn't have a clue how to cook just the basics. It doesn't take much of a brain to cook an egg or make a burger! If it wasn't set in front of them, they would eat chips! I used to think they had monkey brains!

I was able to see both episodes and thought they were a hoot. Oprah doesn't have a hard time laughing at herself, and they way those two pick at each other is hilarious.

Oprah did a great job fishing, but it got a little tiresome to hear Gail whining non-stop. She is quite the sissy-girl, isn't she? "Gail, the bottom of your foot is smoking!"

I thought it was so hilarious, and I love their relationship. They're like Lucy and Ethel! Oprah seems like a cool gal!

I give credit to both of them to appear in front of millions of people without make-up. I'm very jealous of them because I would have loved to have been on that road in Yosemite. I wanted to see the giant sequoias but my husband took the wrong entrance and we drove to the top of the mountain and back down the other side. It was indeed the scariest road I've ever driven on and don't ever wish to do it again. I would have loved being down below looking up! Glad I got to see it if only on T.V.

They were good shows and i've heard Oprah make comments many times over the years about Gai; not cooking,and Gail herself admits it.

I told dh oprah has never forgotten her roots,she grew up poor,and when your poor,living in the country you learn how to do a lot of thing!!

Yes her and stedman are still together,he called her while she was there camping,and we heard her end of the conversation.She even said after the fishing trip that she thinks she may go along with stedman and his friends when they go fishing.

I've always liked Oprah and all she does,she's a very caring woman.

Oprah didn't look as bad in the morning as she did when she came to san diego a few years ago to run in a marathon.At that time if they hadn't said it was her i would have never believed it.

I wish her the best in her new ventures.
