Loui's as it's chicken pot pie day. BUT they had too many carrots and forgot the potatoes. Still good.

I have no idea what I did today but it was next to nothing. I did have a meeting with our banquet manager to make plans for the ladies golf association's Christmas luncheon, but that's about it. DH and I are going to Bonefish tonight.

Today was my big grocery shopping day. Always tires me out. I had a gourmet meal tonight.........scrambled eggs, milk and half a Milky Way caramel bar. People will be beating a path to my door to share this meal.

Not a thing wrong with sceamblies, Shirley! I fix them for my lunch a couple of times a week. But I LOVE Bonefish Grill!

I'm going to make salmon patties. I just made a new sauce to try...

1/2 cup mayo

1/2 cup Dijon mustard

1/3 cup buttermilk

1 tsp. dried dill

Don't know what kinds of veggies we'll have, yet.

We have had the most beautiful day! I would have liked being out in it more than I was. I have not accomplished much but my husband tells me that we don't have to since we are retired. We will have peppers stuffed with orzo and italian sausage (a new recipe for me) with mashed potatoes and lima beans.

Hope you can ditch that liquid diet soon, Patti.

Nice day out so I grilled veggies to use for the next few days. Tonight I'm using them for a frittata.

Patti, I keep you in my prayers everyday. I know you'll be back to eating really soon.

Patti, at least your list is getting shorter. You have to be patient when it comes to cancer, it has a mind of its own as to how fast you can recover. Just think how great food will taste when you can eat solids again. Remember "patience is a virtue" only kidding.

Finished the outside work today & I will give my knee & ankle a few days to stop hurting & then it is fall cleaning.

Dinner was westerns for hubby & I had a turkey sandwich.

It was a long day for Cheryl and me. We took our dogs to be groomed and left them for the day and then we went to another town and we both shopped. I only went into Joann's, didn't buy anything and to Hobby Lobby, I did get some patterns, quilted fabric and a couple notions. Before that we had a big breakfast at Cracker Barrel. She had the biggest platter of pancakes, covered with peaches and glaze and then really covered all over with whipped cream. It was so full when she went to eat it, it started spilling onto the table! I ordered something I had not had before called the egg basket breakfast, two slices of bread with eggs of your choice fried in holes in the bread, and bacon and fried apples to go with it. I will not order that again, the bread was fried in grease and it was too greasy. apples and bacon were good though. Late afternoon before picking up the dogs, I had a hot dog meal from Steak and Shake, no cooking for me after I got home It came with small fries and a great big cup of iced tea. I shared the fries with Cheryl but we did not eat them all. I could not drink all the tea either.

Tomorrow is probably going to be another running day.

Georgysmom, it takes a while to recover from having so much fun on vacation :-) You need a restful day once in a while. Enjoy Bonefish--I love that place.

Rhizo, we used to have salmon patties when I was a kid. Mainly on Fridays since we couldn't eat meat. Never had sauce for them but usually mother made creamed peas. She put them over her salmon--I just tried to get them down without gagging :-( Now I love them!

Sweet Betsy, the best part of retirement for me was being able to cook/bake whatever and whenever I wanted. I may not be the best cook, but I'm right up there when it comes to enthusiasm!

Thank you for the prayers, Matti. I'm really okay just impatient to get this over with. Unfortunately, I don't get to decide much right now. What a bummer. Enjoy your frittata--do you know something? I don't think I've ever had a frittata! (And I do really appreciate the prayers.)

Mary, I'm glad your yard work is finished. Hopefully, you won't have much to do until winter is over and you can rest that knee and ankle. They are more important than a clean house in the big picture.

Veggie loaf with mashed potatoes, gravy, roasted asparagus and Cesar salad. I am trying to make my meals at least 75% vegetables. Trying to convince myself that mashed potatoes count!

Meat loaf and baked potatoes. Don't know what vegetable yet. Cold and foggy makes for an oven meal.

I think it will be spicy chicken patties..on biscuits..I tried it for breakfast night a few weeks back..and they liked it...

But tonight I think with slaw..

Sue, I was getting ready to send out an SOS for you. I hadn't seen any posts from you for a few days. I wish restaurants wouldn't try to put so much food on your plate. It just turns my appetite off when I see a plate full of food that could feed a family of four.

Chi83, sounds like you succeeded with your 75% plan. Are you vegetarian and am I just now noticing?

Kris, meatloaf will be wonderful on this cold, foggy night where you live.

Oooh, Terri. Those chicken patties sound good. I think I'd just top mine with the slaw. Yum!

I had a bowl of Steamfresh Broccoli and cheese and a couple of strips of Honey BBQ Chicken toped it off with one of those Magnum mini ice cream bars it was very good.

rhizo, I had one of their specials, lobster thermidor. It was delicious and I ate the whole thing. DH had their fish and chips which he loves and brought home enough for dinner tomorrow night . YEAH! We also shared a bang bang shrimp and I had not one, but two glasses of wine. I generally don't drink but every now and then, I splurge and what the heck, it was happy hour and after an hour, I was really happy!

OMG...lobster thermadore would probably be my 'last meal' request on death row! I'm serious. Some time ago I found a very good facsimile recipe for bam bam shrimp on line. Do you want me to find it?

Thank you but I'll say no. I think it's laden with calories...anything that good has to be as was the lobster thermidor but once every couple of years is okay. I use to have the bang bang all the time but switched to the mussels. It was really good but I only ate a few and left the rest for DH. Hence his not finishing his meal.

Patti, yes, I've been a vegetarian for 15ish years now! Started in high school and never looked back.
