The only thing I know about them is that all their tools have handles that are "Barbie" pink.

Waaaay too cutsy for me.

My DGD had a party a couple of weeks but nobody showed up.She was really disappointed.One of her friends is a distributor but I don't know how well she does with it.The tools aren't much more expensive than most name brand tools,just a prettier color! LOL I want the pink drill and the travel tool bag!

This is just my own personal opinion- while I think having tools that are sized to fit a woman's hand is important - you'd never catch me using anything pink. To me that just seems like it's a toy rather than a tool. Do they all come with pink handles or is it optional?

One of the KT'ers used to be a Tomboy Tool rep- Betsy, I think her name was artmom here. She showed me some of the them when I met her at Liz's house many years ago and I thought they were great tools. I think the pink would be a great deterrent for thieving husbands!

I just use regular ones, though and have my own tool box in the kitchen and a few upstairs in the craft room, too. Woody's good about putting my tools back, fortunately.

I saw some purple tools and boxes at Walmart the other day, geared for women, in the hardware section.

Some of the stores like Lowes have special classes for women involving fixing up/repairing etc also. Not sure about the tools.

I have an appreciation for good tools. That applies to tools in the kitchen as well. I don't do complete sets or matchy-matchy in the kitchen. I buy for function and quality. DH and I are the same with the household tools.

No way would I be swayed into buying a tool because it was pink. LOL

I can't seem to be able to find any reviews on the tools themselves. Only reviews on the business which like most Multi Level Marketing things. You make money by recruiting other sales people.

I painted some of my tools' handles pastel colors - both hand tools and garden tools. It makes me happy to see the colors as I use each one. My son borrowed my pink post hole diggers and someone stole them. I wonder if they painted them another color.

I really can't see where there would be much, if any market for 'pink tools'. A woman usually has someone to assist with jobs requiring tools, or has access to someone's tools, or else already has her own set of tools she is comfortable using. I for one, would not buy a tool just because it was pink, and imagine they are not as good quality as non-pink tools. Just my 2 cents.

I painted the handles of several yard tools a bright orange because I was always misplacing them when working on big jobs outside.

A lady was selling them at the flea market. Some were scaled down to fit a woman's hand. I think the pink was to sort of discourage husband's from using them. I know mine leaves tools laying everywhere. But, pink wouldn't bother him. I've seen him wear my t shirts. I always say, it's a good thing I don't wear dresses!

what I know so far is the tools are very good quality and have a sound warranty - lifetime on many.
most are available in blue as well as pink

My drive in looking at Tomboy Tools - and maybe there is a better avenue - is to help women become more confident to tackle DIY projects on their own. I have always been willing to take on almost anything from tearing apart the lawn mower when I was a teenager to now building furniture and fixing almost any small household problem...except electric...

I too was the first girl in my high school to take shop class instead of home ec....what a battle that was! Now (all grown up) I love to cook and have started to sewing to my mothers pleasant surprise.

I have more tools than most men I know - all high quality like Dewalt and Makita...so I know I will have high standards for performance.

I'm just not sure this is the way to go, but I do like their objectives.

I also think there a plenty of ladies that are single or just want a little confidence to do things themselves.

The main drawback for me is the Multi level marketing. Although I do have a couple friends that are very successful with Tupperware and Pampered Chef...I do not have intentions of making this a full time career.

aahhh...what to do?

I think, in today's world, younger women are less amenable to DIY because they are so busy with work, perhaps caring for children, etc. In other words, too busy for DIY, same as men.

If anyone of either sex becomes interested in a DIY project, most, if not all, retail home improvement centers provide free classes without pushing people to buy, buy, buy a certain product.

Home shows give extra pressure on buying, because you feel obligated to the hostess to buy something, anything.

Attending a party and maybe purchasing some pink tools is not really going to make a woman any more confident at tackling chores, than what she was without her new pink handled tools.

That is exactly why I haven't attended any 'home shows' for years and all my friends know it.

Well, I have pink tools in a pink tool box and it is a good thing they are pink or I would never get them back! They are not Tom Boy tools. The men are all the time getting into them here and they have lots of tools of their own, but they can never find theirs that quickly, so they get into mine.
