Any other potato (more) purists?

I read about people flooding "mashed" potatoes with milk, cream, sour cream, tons of butter, margarine, cheese, cream cheese, etc. This isn't mashed potatoes! That's potato casserole. Now I'm not knocking a potato casserole, but I do knock people misrepresenting things. Mashed potatoes are potatoes, mashed, with seasoning. Period. A little butter and even a touch of milk can be traditional seasonings. But other than that, it's modified and a different dish.

The last few days I've been working on some potatoes I was wary of as being possibly bad. I baked them and whoa, the potato flavor! I put on a little unsalted butter and some seasoning. BTW, I decided to try Jane's Krazy Mixed Up Salt and it's very good!

Doesn't anybody appreciate potatoes anymore? Maybe it's my heritage but I like unadulterated taters.
