Thank you Joann, I believe that is the one I am looking for!

I have childhood memories of helping my mother make this with her old fashioned grinder, plus I loved this relish.

Cranberry relish

Ingredients1 bag whole cranberries (1 pound)
2 navel oranges, pared and veined
2 Golden Delicious apples, cored
1 can crushed pineapple (14 ounces), drained
1 cup chopped nuts
2 cups white sugar (more, to taste, if necessary)
Preparation: Coarsely grind the cranberries, oranges and apples ( used and old-fashioned food grinder). Drain slightly. Add the crushed pineapple, nuts and sugar. Mix well and refrigerate.

You can make this recipe up to a week before holidays.

This is what the one I posted looks like

yummmm, looks good glenda !!! I can almost taste it.. I will have to look, I believe I still have my Moms food grinder, she used to make mincemeat from scratch, boy I miss that too.

I bet you could do it in the food processor and just pulse

I just put one up on the recipe thread for today (19th) that is great and can be made with splenda if there will be diabetics there. The one I put up does have apple, walnuts and you can add pineapple also.

If I remember correctly we used to take a bag of cranberries
1 cup of sugar and an orange and grind them all up together. That was abuot 30 years ago

The one I posted is called old fashioned cranberry relish.

My mother made it, so it is old fashioned :o)

I really like this one...I don't care for the crunchies tho. Kinda sweet...but really delish!

CRANBERRY RELISH

1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 (12 oz.) bag cranberries
1 (3 oz.) pkg. raspberry gelatin
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts (I didn't add)
1 (about 8 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
1/2 c. diced celery (I didn't add)

Dissolve sugar in water and bring to boil in large pot. Add berries. Return to boil. Reduce heat and boil gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until berries pop. Remove from heat. Stir in gelatin until completely dissolved. Cool completely. Add remaining ingredients. Refrigerate 24 hours. Serves 8 to 10. NOTE: The gelatin doesn't make the relish firm, but thickens it slightly.
