Nothing like having middle-aged kids to make you feel old. Sometimes I wonder how they got so old and I stayed so young. ;)

Here is my son, age 47, doing what he likes to do. Both of my sons are all about fun and good times while also being responsible adults.

Your 16 year old Amana was a rebranded SQ. Except for a few design improvements made by Alliance since they bought the division from Raytheon, the washer design is the same on the new ones. Like sparky823 I would skip that Samsung TL. If you want higher efficiency, I would get a front loader (preferably SQ as well).

What you all need is an Ott light,or a replica of one.The light from them is brighter and a true light if you know what i mean.I also use a mag eyes magnifying glass like this. http://www.amazon.com/MagEyes-Plus-Magnifier-BiFocal-lenses/dp/B0001DU9TI I've had mine for years.I also had the one that hangs around your neck, but didn't like that one. I stitch almost every night and sometimes during the day if it's too hot to work in the gardens. Kathi

Why are you so bothered by something that happened before you met your husband? You surely don't expect that younger him was going around in 1999 saying to himself, "I'd better not have any relationships in case Alison comes into my life"? And don't you think it must be a terrible shock to his daughter (don't call her "so-called", it's mean spirited) to find out the man she thought was Dad all these years isn't- and it sounds like he might have rejected her into the bargain? Since you live so far apart it's unlikely that this young woman will have much, if any, "impact" on your family unless you choose to make a huge deal out of it. And if your boys do find out about their surprise big sister, use it as a teaching moment that "sometimes we make mistakes/poor choices" and that forgiveness is part of the moral package.

Faith M....glad you’re loving your set as well! Ours does not get too loud in the spin cycle...it’s actually much more quiet than our previous Frigidaire Affinity washer on spin cycle. Just a few very trivial caveats for me, I don’t like the tinted doors or lack of light in the washer. And I’d like a soak option. But those are not a big deal at all. This set really is terrific in many ways! Our whites are super bright too now that we have this set! Yes Tania, curious how you like yours?? :)

dedtired, great picture!

My son is an outdoorsman. Loves hunting, deep sea fishing and wishes he'd get more snow skiing in.

He and grandson, PJR, couple years ago in Breckenridge.

I'm surprised that at age 48 he doesn't know he should take his cap off when indoors. LOL

Happy Birthday, Parke! Glenda, that's a wonderful picture of you. Hope he had a good birthday. I know just having lunch with him made your day!

Great picture! It doesn't seem possible that he and PJR are that old. (My son would have been 48 this past June, so I also feel old.)

Our oldest turned 40 in September, which made us pause. We did not have our kids right away, thanks to The Pill. She does look young for her age. A year or two ago, DH took all of us ( or 3 kids and 2 grandsons) to lunch in a nice place in Los Angeles along the water. Everyone wanted a beer. The waitress carded all 3 of my kids, who are in their 30s even with the grandsons there as testimony to their apparent age. Made DH and me feel younger!

Thanks for sharing your sons, ladies! Mine is 42. His dad and I love the rare occasion when we see him clean shaven and without a BB cap. It's like a 'uniform' for these guys!

Happy Birthday, Parke.

Glenda, 48 is just a baby! My oldest--a daughter--turned 61 in mid-October! She's looking forward to next year, when she hopes to be able to start drawing S.S.! Now, that makes me feel old, which I am! :>)
