Pedophile Sandusky's school access to Victim One

This is a lengthy article from an interview of the mother & her son whom the grand jury refers to as Victim One of Jerry Sandusky.

The accounting sure casts a bad light on the high school administration that Victim One attended. Sandusky had free reign to pull Victim One out of school, without the mother's permission nor knowledge. Since the suspicion of sex abuse was first reported to the school, the mother & son were and are still being treated very badly. They fear for his safety & Mom has removed him from the high school. They are still "somewhat" anonymous, but many in the community now know who they are.

Considering how much "blame the victim" goes on, is it any wonder that pedophiles carry on with impunity for years?

If more victims come forward that will soon stop. I hope they all step up. If they have proof and he is convicted they ought to throw him prison with a bunch big brutes and let them play with him awhile. It would be just punishment.

I know the "blame the victim" stuff. If a girl gets raped walking alone at night in a bad neighborhood,it's her own fault, for putting herself in harms way. My kids school had to have a list of people allowed to take our kids out of school during the day (parents,grands,neighbors,etc) Yes we can train our kids to be savvy and wary. I remember what my youngest daughter said. I asked "What would you do if a strange man in a car started talking to you? I hoped she'd say "run away", "I'd tell Mr. Thomas our neighbor " or something along that line. Insyead she said "I'd beat him up". I did find out she had a lot of self confidence.

Since I have been involved with Penn States for decades , first in the 60's when husband was there and then in the 80's when my kids were, I was astounded at how football is revered and the most important thing on campus. It's mindblowing for a non football fan like me. Ramifications from this scandal are going to be felt for years. The investigation is just the beginning and many heads will roll. I heard about Sandusky pimping out young boys to rich donors back when that story broke. McQ is a poor excuse for a man. A spineless wonder who in his idolization of Paterno let this little boy fend for himself enduring anal rape. McQ was almost 30, 6'4'' 240 and he walks away and calls daddy? Daddy is connected to the team as well. Paterno knew and is toast in my book.. And where oh where is Ray Gricar who heard SANDUSKY ADMIT HE DID WRONG AND WISHED HE WAS DEAD. aND THAT WASN'T THE WORSE OFFENSE and WHERE WAS mRS sANDUSKY WHEN THESE LITTLE BOYS HAD SLEEPOVERS AND ACCOMPANIED THE FAMILY TO BOWL GAMES??..Sorry for the caps..typing too fast.

Banning assault style weapons would not reduce these numbers hugely but would still be meaningful. And it seems like pretty low-hanging fruit, too, when you consider all the other guns do have some arguable use. Not sure what the legit argument for having military-type weapons is. Remember that the United States does NOT have an official manner to track gun deaths. There is no mandatory reporting guidelines by law enforcement agencies to give a true number. So it's probably worse than the charts show. Studies suggest that suicide by methods other than gun are often failures and the person usually regrets the attempt and sometimes even gets help. (Otherwise, why bother with the oops net under the Golden Gate bridge?) Nobody knows if gun attempts would be regretted cuz...they work better. Suicides by gun is a problem. It's a different problem than assault-style weapons being used for mass random murder. They can't be addressed the same way but they shouldn't be forgotten. Shame the CDC can't support studying gun violence or suicides. So yeah, my kids' schools have drills. The middle school might have a security guard; the elementary school doesn't. The typical mid-century California suburban school has no inner halls. It's just a conglomeration of buildings. If you didn't feel like entering by the kindergarten or the front office or the library, you could enter from the other side by sneaking through the backyard of one of the 20 or so homes that back onto the field.

Of course one would be disgusted with the situation and the truth that where boys and men congregate this keeps happening. It is very easy to point fingers at institutions that do not have eyes at every gathering. The place to look is the culture that created the pressure to look the other way, shame the victim or just ignore the signs. These boys also had parents and good Patrol leaders. I want to know why the healthy adults did not come to the aid of these boys, and I want to know the impossible; how to keep children safe from predators. Bankrupting an institution is not going to do that. The experience of Scouting in my family, going back several generations was positive, for that we were blessed, it's that simple.

Yes, given 20/20 hindsight, Japanese bombs on the mainland proved to be a fluke. Rewind to June 1942 though and bombs have landed not far from where you live (155 miles by car, closer by crow), your house is on the approach to Boeing, a large part of the fleet that would defend you is rusting away at the bottom of Pearl Harbor, what would you be thinking? Assuming the cellar was scratch built 1942ish, the only problem with material to build it would have been reinforcement for the concrete. Re-bar, mesh. Wood for the forms, cement, sand, aggregate, not so much. The first scrap metal drives started that summer (1942). If the needed steel for reinforcement wasn't obtainable at the hdwe store, it was probably still scrounge-able. Or substitutes like old fencing, bedsprings... OTOH, the structure could well predate WWII by a couple of decades, original intent as a root cellar. (Assumption that ground water level is too high for basements to exist in that locale.) And then re-purposed as dual purpose bomb shelter/ root cellar with the addition of the concrete benches. I do not think that the benches would not have been original to a root cellar. Accessibility, the need for good air circulation would all seem to preclude the fixed benches. For sure, the latest use is tool shed because of the spark plug wrench laying on the bench. Interesting puzzle. Guessing that the creepy factor some people are experiencing could owe partly to the tomb-stone shaped interior?

This whole deal is beyond sickening. This pervert should be behind bars, along with all of the stupid persons at that collage who turned a blind eye to the filthy things he was doing to LITTLE BOYS, I'll never understand the blind worship some have for sports figures, beyond all reason. I don't know if it is true or not, but I caught a blurb on TV that the reason Demi Moore finally kicked her boy=toy to the curb was because he had sympathies for Joe Paterno (sp?)

And what's really baffling is that Sandusky ADMITS to t.v. reporters that he DID 'touch', 'horse around in the shower with' and 'squeeze' these kids - yet, he's STILL out on bond?! HUH?
