Yes, Bunny, it is clematis. The reason is youcan plant the tiniest roots. First year no show second year no show and then the third year Bam all the color, flowers and show just for being patient. The plant needs time to set roots so that it can grow stronger and provide a better top show. Which the top likes to shine yet the roots need to be shaded and hide in the background, so while the top growth is getting all the praise, it's really the roots who are the powerhouse. ok one more for me.. Abortion is being used as a main form of birth control. I don't want to tell any woman what she can do with her body but I don't want my tax dollars paying for the ruining of millions of lives not to mention the killing of millions of babies. Why is it when someone who believes in the Christian way of life and talks of abstinence, they are laughed at and ignored? Does anyone remember that not too many years ago there was this thing called decency and the right and wrong of having sex before marriage. Why isn't PP teaching about abstinence, but instead encouraging 12 yr. olds to take birth control pills and have abortions? Why do a lot of liberals believe you cannot control your sexual urges even when you are a young teen? I was 21 and married before I had my first sexual experience. I didn't die from not having sex before than. I wasn't considered a freak either. When I was a young woman PP was there for me also becaus back then insurance didn't pay for women's preventative health. No one teaches young girls what it means to respect their bodies. No 12, 13, 14, etc. year old is ready to have sex. It's not just the physical ramifications but the mental. Today we don't teach anything. We just allow young people to make very bad decisions and they are the ones being hurt and ruined for life by some of their decisions. Who is raising our children? Dbfirewife, I took your good suggestion and linked the three children to their parents this morning. I don't know why I didn't do it when I first put them on FindAGrave; I always link. I've noticed that some memorial managers ignore infants completely, and sometimes other children as well. It's as if the little ones don't count because they didn't produce children of their own. But I feel strongly that the babies deserve mention, and their loving parents who erected the stone would certainly want that for them. Joann, so Eva worked in the Hawley silk mill. I know it well. In fact, I have a connection. The enormous silk mill, which now houses a community college and some boutiques, had on the property a separate building that held about $250,000 worth of cocoons (a princely sum in those days). About 5 years ago the owners of Hawley's best restaurant converted it into an upscale coffee house, and during the planning phase hired my daughter-in-law to manage it. She was the perfect choice......not only does she have a degree in business management, but she and my son have always roasted and ground their coffee beans. :-)
