By the way, I've searched everywhere within the security custom settings to change it to "only me" to view the pics. I just can't seem to find how it can be done to control who views those pics...in my case I don't want anyone to see them, but don't want to delete them because having them there allows me to instantly change the pic when I choose to.

Others may know more than me, but on the pictures that I want only myself to view, you can click on that particular pic, and it will give you an option as public, friends, friends of friends, and only me...click on only me. The only way I know how to do it is click on each indivual pic. Hope this helps in some way.

Debi, what's the point of having FB friends if you don't want to show them anything? I'm not being argumentative or sarcastic; I'm curious. Since the intent of Facebook, a "social network," is sharing, why not share?

Alisande, I'm testing things out for my business page. And, in order to have the most flexibility for a business page, it's best to set it up via a personal profile, instead of just a company page (much less flexibility). Yes, I did research this. So, I mainly got on FB for business to see how it might help as a business tool, but people are finding "me" as a person. I'm generally private and prefer to have total control over what people see and that includes pics.

Even those who have friended me, I prefer they see ONLY my profile pic and no more, unless I care to share when I choose to. Perhaps I'm not meant for FB but nothing wrong with testing the waters.

I'm curious, too. Why bother loading pictures? . I'm missing something. (My fault, not yours)

I may be way to controversial here but there must be alot of people that want that option of "only me" or fb would not offer that option. Here is one incident in which I used the "only me" option. I have a pic that my granddaughter sent to me via fb message of her and her mother..It is absolutely beautiful, and she wanted to keep it private until she and her mom could have it framed for her dad to give it to him as a gift. She ask me to keep it private so I put it in my picture and put it under the "only me." When it was mentioned above that others could see the pictures even though the only me had been chosen I contacted my DGD and she confirmed that she could not see the picture on my account. Whew!!

Yes, you are missing something. The pictures are multi PROFILE pictures that I uploaded so I can change them when I want (a face pic, me skydiving, a caricature of me, etc). They are NOT vacation or other photos to be shared. I do not want them all to be accessible to friends or otherwise. I tested it by going to the security area where it says "see how others view your profile. When I type in a name of a person who is my friend, I notice they have access to my pics even though the "only me" options is selected.

Debi, I hope you do not think I was doubting your word. FB has issues at times..what doesn't work for one person, will work for another person...also, I guess I did not read very well when you mentioned it was in your profile pictures. My own cousin wanted to know why I deleted her which I had not,(fb malfunction) but come to find out several people have been deleted from her account..I have never had an issue with FB, but some of my old classmates and friends have had some problems (but not all, just a minority). I have the picture of my DGD and her mom in an album, but in my profile pictures. Very sorry if you thought I was doubting you...(sitting with a dunce hat on head for not explaining myself better!!)

No worries, thisledew. After reading your post, I decided to test my FB page further.

My test results indicated that my friends can not see my photos. I will ask a girlfriend to verify this. The approach I was using before to check this out negated what they could see if I clicked on another page like the photos, wall, etc. after I entered a friend's name into the "this is how XXX sees your profile". In that case, it's what I see, not what friends see, once I move from the profile to another page. Complicated to explain, but I think my tests proved it's working as it should in terms of having "only me" as my option to view pics.
