Oh yeah. I'm the crazy one. LOL I LOVE Black Friday. It's actually become a tradition in my family. We all pile in the car at about 6 am and drive ~3 hours to a HUGE outlet mall and shop all day. We break for lunch at a local texmex joint that we love, and stop when we're ready for dinner. We eat someplace nice, then head back on the three hour trip home. It's actually not as crazy as it might sound, because for us, it's fun. It's actually become a fun family day. The outlet mall is huge and opens the night before so the real swell of crowds have subsided by the time we arrive. And just about the time it's getting a little bit crazy with crowds again, lunchtime, we drive off site for lunch. Since it's such a large mall with something like 300 stores, there are very very few stores that have untenable crowds. And really, those stores are usually the ones I'm not particularly interested in anyway. By the way I will say that I go with NO agenda. We don't do any holiday gift exchanging (I'm like emagineer in that I prefer to buy gifts throughout the year when a need or want is expressed rather than waiting Bdays & holidays). So mainly I'm shopping for myself, for the house, like that. Great bargains to be had and really, for us, a fun fun day.

I couldn't remember the last thing/time I ordered. Had to go look! Eight months ago! I would have guessed that it was some of the supplements that I take but, it was rubber snakes (to try to scare the squirrels out of my fruit trees - didn't work) and replacement filters for a vacuum. I intend to buy a swivel stand for my TV soon - it has been in my cart for months. I did just buy a used handbag and a battery/charger unit for an old Shark vacuum from eBay - the first purchases there in a long time, also. The handbag was a bit of a disappointment - smaller than the posted measurements, so smaller than I really wanted (and I wanted a smallish one). The difference was the seller measured the width at the zipper top of the bag, not at the base, which would be the more accurate for usable space.

I appreciate that with Kohls I know the rules of the game. There is the marked price, and they will have a sale. When they have a sale, you know what the sale amount is and how long the sale will last and you may get Kohl's cash, etc. With Amazon, I can add an item to my watch list at a certain price. That price often fluctuates without any rhyme or reason. If it is on sale, I have no idea how long the sale price is in effect. It is also a lot more work to find the sales at Amazon. I often find that Amazon does not have the best price and so I do find myself looking elsewhere. My bigger pet peeve is that for my semi-rural location, Amazon uses the post office for shipping far too often which often means that I have to go to the post office to get my stuff. What's the point of ordering online if I still have to go stand in-line to get my things. As far as Kohl's quality, I think most of the clothes I have looked at are on par with everywhere else. There are few places where I could say that the quality is comparable to the price. Many, many of the once go to brands are slipping to where you might as well buy it at Old Navy or Kohls. It is not a huge deal for me because I am in gardening clothes most of the time anyway. When I'm not, many of the Simply Vera clothes at Kohl bridge the gap nicely for me (bought on sale of course).
