Turkey Sandwich? Ham Sandwich?

We canceled our plans yesterday to go to Galveston because of the weather and just being to darn tired to travel.

So, I went to the Nursing Home to visit my Mom. My intention was to take her out to eat for Thanksgiving, but the Kitchen had prepared Turkey and Dressing for the Residents. I was invited to stay and eat with her. It was actually very good.

I brought Mom out to the house where She cozied up in the recliner by the fireplace with all three dogs climbing all over her. We watched the Dog Competition and just chilled.

We're having our turkey dinner today, DS and girlfriend will be here. Got my pump pies made, all the other stuff ready, I'm POOPED!

I had a turkey sandwich for breakfast about 45 minutes ago. LOTS of turkey leftover.

bk thanks, I well understand the traditional food culture. I was omnivorous until 2007, now I'm 46 years old (in june), the only regret I have is not having started earlier to be vegan. Change eating habits it is not so difficult, for me it was indeed an extraordinary experience. Ken, I prefer escargots alive and kicking, ...preferably not on my hostas hehehe ...anyway I don't use products to kill them. Gary assassin, you are a meat cutter? there are still people who eat meat? ;-) josy67, thanks for the compliments. My advice is to try the Honeybells, I'm sure you'll like it, my plantaginea was soft and very tasty. Jan and tj thanks, but for me all meats are inappropriate ;-)

On my birthday one year, I had an Almond Joy martini. It was the first martinit I ever had. It was soooooooooooo good! I've tried to duplicate it, haven't yet! I've also had some sort of pear martini which was also very good. I tried the appletini, don't care for sour apple, so didn't care for this one. I'll keep trying to reproduce that Almond Joy one though. I remember it was clear liquid, because the glass had chocolate syrup swirled all around on it. I'm having trouble making a clear one. LOL.

Well he did act like a young Don Knots but he looked more like a young and of course chubby Dom DeLouise! Thank you everyone for your compliments you are all being so nice. It is nice when KT people can get together. We're spending the week at our place in northeast PA so it was only a 30 or so mile drive to met Susan at a restaurant. My husband and I had been cutting logs into rounds for 2 days so I told him I wanted a fun day. The kids come up tonight so tomorrow it's back to firewood duty - we rented a hydraulic log splitter and we're planning on getting 2 or 3 cords of wood split and stacked for the winter. I feel like the productive country mouse from the children's fable.

I just had a late lunch of Ling Ling Potstickers. I don't care for the soy sauce mixture that comes with them so I use Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce as a dipping sauce instead. Trying to watch my calories and this was a very satisfying lunch for 360 calories.

So far just a cherry Dr. Pepper. Nothing really sounds good and I'm home by myself. Twinkie is in the deer woods. I'm thinking some yogurt or cheerios! LOL

I'm having a turkey salad: leftover turkey, black olives, cauliflower and carrots on a bed of spring mix greens with a little pickled cauliflower, cheddar cheese and bleu cheese dressing.

Well, since I left all my leftovers at DD#2's house I am in a state of withdrawal. I am pitiful. SO, I think DH and I will go to the boats and eat some FREE casino food. They do have the best Chinese food ever and bananas Foster, so it's hard to starve over there.

I'll never, no never, leave my leftovers again. That cornbread dressing was just delicious. She used the Luby's recipe minus the sage. I may call and tell her to freeze me a serving or two. I repeat. I am pitiful.

Tonight I'm having pizza. Yesterday I went all out, cooked a brined 12 pound turkey with all the trimmings. I have enough leftovers to feed my family for at least a week. The only thing that went badly was I burned the pumpkin pie. But I never eat the crust anyway,so it was okay.

I read somewhere, that Pizza is the favorite food for after the Thanksgiving Dinner.

Talk about teasing the palate.

Turkey Calzones sound pretty good.

We're not having Thanksgiving dinner until Sunday, so I don't know what's for lunch. I had a bowl of cereal about 11:00.

Jammer and I had German Chocolate cake for breakfast and I had a ham sandwich and Jammer had tamales and cornbread dressing for lunch. Now I'm enjoying a bowl of congealed salad. Tonight will probably be left-over turkey. I love all the left overs.

After we had a lunch of a yogurt and fresh apple (ate too much yesterday), DH says "We should have had a turkey sandwich!" I did have a slice of pumpkin pie for breakfast. I never enjoy it Thanksgiving day after all that other food, but it did taste good with my morning coffee. I always enjoy the leftovers on Sunday much more then the feast on Turkey Day. Too much tasting while cooking! Also too tired after cooking all day to enjoy anything!

I had a piece of apple pie and ice cream for breakfast, and a few appetizers I had left over from yesterday. YUM!! Haven't been hungry since.

Turkey, gravy, green beans w. onion and bacon, mash potatoes, whole berry cranberry jelly, spinach dip...wait a minute...isn't that what I had yesterday?
But,hey, it tastes great today too. For lunch AND dinner! lol

Had mashed potatoes and gravy and stuffing and turkey with cranberry sauce for lunch...fried shrimp and broccoli for dinner! The turkey breast I fixed is still only half gone, it's going in the freezer along with leftover gravy. Also turkey stock that wasn't needed.

I had some mushrooms that were about to go out of date. So I sautÃ©ed the mushrooms with onions and some turkey in a wine sauce. Too Sweet....so I added sour creme. Then I took the mixture and spooned it onto Crescent Roll Pastry and baked.

Really an appetizer, but it was my Dinner tonight. I will slice up the Turkey tomorrow and freeze it.

i had a fried bologna sandwich w/ white bread. an all around splurge for me lol i don't eat lunchmeat much, don't fry things infact i blot my fried low fat beef bologna LOL and don't eat white bread ever. it's a comfort food to me, it's from my childhood and today was cool and cloudy at 73 in orlando, a gloomy day needing comfort food :-) i made paella valencia for dinner, a cookinglight recipe. i'll deal w/ boning out yesterday's turkey tomorrow a.m. ~ liz
