Prayers for my sister

My older sister and I were going to have lunch with our special needs sister at the Home today. I'll be going alone. Older sister's 26 yr old grandson committed suicide last night. We're all stunned. I'd appreciate it if you'd send up a prayer for her and her family.

They will be in my prayers, so many hurting. Friend's granddaughter died from stroke she was 13. So a bad headache & "cold" or "funny feeling" arm or leg get person to ER for MRI. I feel for your relative with the shoulder injury especially as they are so uncomfortable. Hope it ends up being not as bad as it looked for his injuries, do they have a friend or neighbor to help out for a couple of weeks? Hope your sis-in-law goes on without much pain. Out here they are much better about that then used to be. Brother will need support for some time. I think it's harder on men as most don't cook & they often don't eat or eat everything out at cafes,which often don't serve healthy food. Beautiful sentiments New Dawn! Thank you so much. Rose, thanks for sharing the story & for your continued positive thoughts. Peggy is home! She was discharged yesterday afternoon, got home around 4:00. She is very, very happy to be in her own house again. We visited Saturday, Sunday, & Monday. Monday's visit was at her house. When we arrived, a guy was just finishing setting up an oxygen tank for her, making sure she had plenty of length to her tube so she could walk the distance of most of the first floor. Shortly after the guy left, her dh & my dh went out to get a prescription filled and picked up a few groceries. I was glad that we were there so Peggy wasn't alone right away when her dh went out to the store. Don't know how long she'll be on oxygen, but the doc is saying a week or two right now. I'm sure they'll be playing it by ear. I think she is most concerned about her lung. With time I truly believe she will adapt to this though. Our niece & her dh will be over to bring Peggy dinner tonight. They both cook very well, and my nephew loves to cook. He was thinking days ago about all the things he wants to fix for them. Tonight will be enchiladas. I told him he must bake some of his famous lemon squares for them at some point. They are out of this world! The home care nurse, Nan, will be over today too, & Peggy's dh be home, so she will be well-attended to today. Recovery is off to a good start.

Thank you all. I forgot to tell you my sister's name. When you are offering prayers, they are for Phyllis. She has been so upbeat and positive during this fight with lung cancer (for the past 3 years or so) but she's having a very hard time right now. I think she's afraid of the unknown, for the first time. I know your prayers and the prayers of many others are surrounding her and that they are helping her.

Shirley, I am stunned too. I cannot begin to understand the pain you and your family are suffering from. I will add your family to our hands of prayer to get through this difficult time.

I know how tragic and sad this is for the family. My mother committed suicide 2 days before Thanksgiving back in 1970. Thanksgiving has never been the same.

Thanks for your support and caring. Her daughter is on a plane from another state to stay with my sister for a few days. I'm so glad. I still can't wrap my head around it all.
