I also am one that checks out multiple daily deal sites. On Bradsdeals . com today, they have a 4 ft. pre-lit Christmas tree, in a base for $9.99 free pick up at your local Ace Hardware store.

You can type in your zip code to find the closest store to you. Originally 19.99, when you put it in your shopping cart it goes down to 9.99. If you go through ebates you get an additional 3% cash back.

The 7ft prelit tree with stand from Byrlane is only $79 there too with the code. Not a bad deal.

I have 2 of those little ones like that I set them on little tables and put in my 2 front windows, Looks really good from the street. I don't have one big window for a big tree to be seen through so that works well.

Are the 4ft tree indoor/outdoor??? I am looking for 2 4ft trees to put outside my entry way.....I am going to get my husband to look into Ebates tonight. There is an Ace Hardware right down the road...

Can you provide a direct link to Bradsdeals that show the Christmas trees???

GrandmaBarb, Just loved the pretty little birdhouse and the fantastic garden pointer. How clever you are!! Barb sent me a sign that she had made from an old piece of weathered board on which she had painted the prettiest yellow flowers on the left of the board. On the right of the board she had glued little tiny pointed pinecones in the shape of an arrow with blue jewels along the sides showing the way to the garden. On both the birdhouse and garden sign she had painted Ellens Joy. I am so happy that you were my Secret Santa as you nailed my personality to a tee. Transplating trees from old Christmas tree farm?

You shouldn't have a problem. I've seen people transplant 5-7' white spruce with a front end loader. Spruce have wide shallow root systems. Ideal is a disk about 10" thick and 1/3 to half the height of the tree. Keep the new tree moist but not soggy. fertilize with 10-51-10 The last number can be larger. Important thing is a large phosphorus (middle number) The latter should be mixed in the trees water, about 1 teaspoon per gallon. If you have a bunch of large buckets, put one with a rock in it by each tree. Put a small hole in the bucket, and fill the bucket up once a week. This will water your tree more gradually. Ballpark: 1-2 gallons per foot of tree per week. Check more often if you get a hot spell. If your deciduous trees haven't broken bud yet, you're in time. If the spruce already have light green buds, your success will be limited. If he's any good with a dozer he should be able to lift a slab of tree root with it. If he's bull dozing the whole thing offer him $10 per tree.

the main deals will scroll across the page

reading the comments on the small trees some are saying it is sold out so if you try it and it does not work it probably is.
These deals sites have to be hit fast because they do sell out.

Cool!

If you have one of those pre-lit trees and some of the lights don't work.. Get one of those red "guns" that they sell with the lights. I was able to get my lights working again in about 2 seconds with one of those. Best money ever spent!!
