I'm glad for them and hope that they have a much better marriage than his parents did. Who knows, but I get the feeling that he's marrying for love, unlike his father. I also hope that he inherited his mother's charitable trait.

Funny, I don't find him handsome at all; he started out with great promise of being handsome but IMO he didn't turn out that way; something unattractive about his mouth area. However, I think his younger brother, Harry, is adorable. Always have. Not classically handsome, but much better looking than the older one.

I wish the bride and groom a lifetime of true happiness.

I'm with you, Kat. "I" was hoping he'd give her an engagement ring of "her very own" with no history. Then, after the wedding, he could give her Diana's sapphire. Maybe he consulted with her and she's thrilled with the ring. It is beautiful and looks perfect on her hand. Now it has a chance to soak up some true love and romance.

As for the date and time? I've already been planning my outfit! LOL I'm wearing peach, ivory, and tan. On this morning's news I saw the Queen attending a Church service in similar, but slightly darker, colors. I wonder if she'd loan me the hat?

I think I'm wearing a linen-type suit. The long (almost to the ankle) skirt will have small pleated detail at the back hem. The long-sleeved fitted jacket (hip-length whether it's "in style" or not!) needs narrow, rounded lapels (not notched), vintage shell buttons (the thick, knobbly, "rich looking" ones) and the ivory blouse will be trimmed with darker ivory lace.

I'll add a great vintage brooch...shoes (dressy boots) to die for, gloves...and the "perfect" hat, vintage of course.

( Before someone calls the guys in the white jackets...I do realize I'm not actually going to London and attending the wedding...but it never hurts to plan. Gotta get that passport...soon! LOL)

Caroline, you are a gal after my own heart. It is fun to dream. Nothing wrong with that. I haven't figured out what I'll wear, I'll wait to see what the Queen will wear, so I can choose something that won't clash with hers. LOL

Yes; I'm going to be flexible about the colors of my outfit, too. If the Queen, or attendants, announce they're wearing peach, I'll change my colors.

Since the suit should be custom made to fit my, ummmm, "unique proportions", I'll have to ask a couple of the ladies on the Sewing Forum to help me design, construct, and taylor just the right "look."

The style and accessories will stay the same, but the color is flexible.

Can one wear dark green at the end of April? I don't want to wear pink, or blue. Dark green would be my second choice, pale yellow my third.

I think dark green is too wintertime, & you'd be a dark splotch among all the pastels...

I'll probably wear aqua, something simple & classic & tasteful...
with a *lot* of Swarovski crystals on the collar & cuffs & a nice summery hat.

you want to look really fabulous, but be careful not to outshine the bride.

This is fun!!!

I have decided to wear a dress of a soft floral print in pale yellow and green. Something soft, drapey, and billowy. Shoes in a soft green, and a large brimmed hat in a pretty soft green to match. I'll try to keep my jewelry simple and understated, maybe I'll take my real pearls out of the vault for the occasion. If I clash with Her Majesty, well, she can just go change.

Her sons adored their mother and so it seems most romantic and meaningful to me that he proposed using his mother's fantastic engagement ring.

Our older son will be getting engaged this coming year, and he will use a modern cut 1/2 carat diamond that was in a ring belonging to his paternal great grandmother, resetting it in a simple but modern band.

So I find myself looking at my own wedding and engagement rings and wondering what will happen to them some day. I hope one of my grandsons will want to reset the stones to use in the engagement ring for his future wife.

I think the ring is sweet too. William loved his mother. Maybe it reminds him of the good times with her when he was younger.

I haven't planned my outfit yet. I'm partial to blue or peach. Maybe I'll pick out the flowers for my hat first and go from there.

I'm thinking about wearing a knee-length deep lavender silk gown, with purple flowers appliqued across the square neckline.

Since the service will be about 4AM my time, I think this will be the most comfortable clothing, since I will be attending from my own warm bed.

Both the princes are good looking, IMHO. Considering Charles looks like a Basset hound, I guess Diana's genes won out.

Then there is the other problem to consider....what to give them for a wedding gift. I'm kind of leaning towards a toaster, a fondue set.
