old rose china patterns

hi, I am searching for someone who posted here some time ago about collecting old china. there was a picture and a pattern that i am desperately trying to get information about, the post was from a joyce who showed pictures of diffent pieces of old rose patterns. the one I am looking for is unmarked (of course) gold rimmed, with a pink fluffy rose with small blue flowers and yellow flowers. I got these from my grandmother and they probably date to the 40's. Joyce if you see this, please reply.

Hi Robin. You might have gotten names/posts mixed up. Gary and I do collect old china (and I've posted lots of pictures), but mostly transferware, not old rose patterns. That said, we DO have a set or two with roses on them, but not necessarily anything special. If you can post a picture, I can let you know it it's one I'm familiar with. Joyce

You could always send a picture to Replacements Unlimited, P.O. Box 2356, Greensboro, N.C. or give them a call. Perhaps they could help you out. They have patterns dating back 100 years.

Looks a bit like "Slater's Crimson China" to me. It's not supposed to have many thorns - perhaps the strain that grows in Puerto Rico has less than those grown in other areas. I don't have the actual dishes at my house. It is a set that my daughter in law's grandmother left her. I sent the picture to Replacements.com and I did find out however that the pattern is a Johnson Brothers pattern JB169. However as of yet have not found a teapot which sadly was broken. If I recall correctly I believe that the only thing that was on the back was the name "Johnson Brothers".

I think Amy is looking for a site where she can window shop....as she has said, she's not interested in researching one pattern but in browsing to find stuff that might appeal to her. Hall, autumn leaf is yellowish...I don't think they are going to come any cleaner if you are washing them well. I suppose you could put them in the dishwasher...but I would not use regular dish soap....and I would not use the dry cycle not the water heater feature. If you really think the dish washer will clean them...put a handful of baking sode in with the dishes, or 1/2 cup white vinegar. But I really think you will get them cleaner in the sink with a little dawn. Linda C Here is a link that might be useful:
