After a 3 1/2 hour delay leaving Manchester England 11/6 I arrived in Chicago at 5:30pm (my connection flight to Lincoln was to leave at 5:15pm) I got through customs, collected my bags, through immagration gave my bags to the baggage people again who told me to go to gate F11, took the tram from terminal 5 to terminal 2 through security and walked to the farthest point of the airport and arrived at gate F11 by 6:15 (record time for all that for me..........and NO potty stop!!!) just as they were calling my name for last boarding (my regular flight was delayed due to bad weather in Lincoln......my sisters said there was no bad weather in Lincoln so I think Mom held that plane for me). We sat on the runway for a long time waiting our turn but finally arrived in Lincoln at 8:15 where my sisters met me and told me Mom passed away at 1:30pm that afternoon ...some of you may remember I said before that it was Dad's birthday the day I came back and I just had a feeling she'd go that day. Her funeral was yesterday 11/11 the minister was the daughter-in-law of my folks best friends and she did such a nice job, really added a lot of personal remembrances she had of Mom and Dad. A small group of family and friends attended, Mom would have been pleased with those who were there, it was raining but not freezing turning to snow as predicted.

I'm so glad she's finally a whole person again, with Dad and not suffering from the Alzheimers. I wrote a poem that I will post on a different thread.............I slept about 2 hours after being awake for 24 hours with traveling/talking to my DS then couldn't sleep and wrote about 3/4 of the poem in 2 hours.
