looked at e-readers today

I wasn't intending to but while out buying DH an ipad for his birthday I also ran into the e-readers. Confirmed a few things I thought before I had actually looked at them. I definitely like the black and white ones that look more like a book better - and these have the benefit of being readable outside in the sunlight. Do not care for the glossy, glare of the color screens. Plus they are too much like a computer and I like getting away from computers when I'm reading a book. I also like the smaller size that's kind of like a small paperback vs. larger things like the ipad. To me the ipad is more of an alternative to laptop vs. an alternative to a paperback book. So I think I would either get a Nook Simple Touch or a Kindle Touch - without ads. After buying an ipad these e-readers seem like a real bargain.

One thing I don't particularly like is that the price of some e-books from Amazon and B&N is $9.99 and you can buy a paperback from them for about $5. I like the idea of never running out of books though. I have also looked into the library but sometimes it takes me a long time to get through a book and I think the limited library time could be a real pain.

Maybe I will ask for one for Christmas.
