update on my eye

After lunch today, I talked with the Manager on duty, and got the paperwork to see a doctor. Yesterday, all was documented, as it was a work injury. Should have gone yesterday... but really, all I got to do today was to go to the urgent care facility that all HD accidents are referred to.

While there I got some pain numbing drops, and the doc looked it over, and checked for fragments. Nothing was found.

I left there with a tube of ointment, to be put on the eye twice a day. The first dose was administered by Mary, a girlfriend. I'll see if I can do it myself in the morning. If not, I will drive over to Mary's again before work.

It hurts still, but not like yesterday, nor like this morning. What scares me is the lack of vision.

I am supposed to come back on Monday. Lets hope, it will be all better.

Personally, I would have felt better if I could have gone to my eye doc.

I'm so glad that you went, Moni. It is so frightening to have something happen to our eyes. I hope it heals quickly, usually eyes heal fairly fast so the pain should be fading within another day or two. Stay out of bright light and if need be wear sunglasses. I read that patching the eye is no longer the protocol, that it can slow healing. Hope you are feeling better quickly.

Mary the furniture placement you last posted is what I was trying to tell you EXCEPT move everything centered with the fireplace. First center the rug with the room and the fireplace. Then put the sectional with the front legs on the rug. That should leave you with a walkway behind it, not right up against the window. Hopefully you'll have enough space to add a sofa table either directly behind the sofa or if directly under the window could be used for plants. Tv across from fireplace. Then angle at least one chair for tv viewing on the wall next to the fireplace where your cabinet with the mirror is, a second could be added just like in your post if there's room. Get things off the wall. But CENTER as much as you can with the fireplace.

I haven't had misdiagnoses but I have had different paths to a solution-- and different prognoses. I understand some of it because no two conditions are the same and vision is a fairly complex function. Are you having vision issues also? I guess regardless of the issue, finding the right dr is key. My first dr said there was nothing to be done-- this is when the symptoms were just developing and perhaps could have been addressed more completely. I am so kicking myself for just accepting his word. I lost two years of critical time. I am normally a strong person-- unwilling to accept that there's nothing to be done.. but I can look back now and say that I accepted it because I was soooo bummed.. and also very ashamed and embarrassed by my issues. Also, I was seeing one of the most highly regarded ophthalmologists in the area-- and I am sure he IS good for a lot of eye issues. Just not mine. I am now seeing a dr at Wills Eye Hospital 2 hr away. If you think you aren't getting good care-- keep seeking the care you deserve! And yes, thanks-- today is good. I am working 3 hr today.. we'll see how that goes!

I cant make many comments but bought it from either High Country or Northland Rosarium as a small band. It grew well, I repotted it and its now blooming its head off - I like the color alot and have a spot picked out for it at the front of the border in my pink bed. I think once it gets in the ground and starts growing, I am really going to like it. Havent noticed any blackspot to speak of - it has lots of blooms and the color is lovely. I would recommend it.

I had an eye injury as a child. The eye is very well protected by the bony eye socket and hundreds of small blood vessels, it will heal remarkably fast. Good luck with the onitment!

I hope your eye is better today. When my cornea was scratched during cataract surgery, it hurt like the blazes. The eye Dr put in a temporary contact lens bandaid. The relief was mediate and oh so welcome.

Glad you went to the doctor. Eyes are too important to ignore. You should feel lots better in a day or two.

My husband went to one of the small ERs in our city and they put drops in his eye to numb it. The ER doc was so late getting in the med no longer worked and he really hurt my husband.

There isn't any pain at all right now, at the end of the day. I also managed to put the ointment in "all by myself", this morning, and evening.

But I wore my sun hat, and dark glasses outside all day, in the garden department at work.

Guess, it is all better.. but do have another appointment for Monday.
