Supper's Over!

We have had our supper, chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, fried chicken breasts, baked cream corn, deviled eggs, potato salad, and pineapple upside down cake. There were 5 of us tonight. I am ready to go to bed. What did you have this evening for your meal?

Ohhhhhhhh ***groan*** did you have to say deviled eggs??!
(you got any leftover? LOL) I love, love,love them and of course only make them at Easter!

We had Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole and corn and bread. Simple but filled us up.

Well, it looks like winter is really back here finally in the Southern Tier. I'm glad, really - I was concerned that my winter sown containers would sprout too soon, and the seedlings would freeze, but the cold has returned before anything sprouted. Now if it would just snow enough for my kids to sled, that would be great - they got new sleds recently, and haven't been able to use them yet. And my youngest is on a snowman kick, and wants to make a whole line of them in the front yard (shades of Calvin and Hobbes!). Laurel

Raven, glad Mom is doing okay. First I better get off my butt, shower and dress. I need to vacuum out my car because I have been moving plants around and there is still sand in the trunk from my visit to the Cape. The ooutside needs a good washing. Funny how you don't see the dirt on a silver car. My beloved dark green Honda showed everything, but I miss that car. I also will head over to the Nature Trail at a local college for a walk in the beautiful weather. My garage needs to be straightened out, too. I am trying to do outdoor stuff before the cold weather sets in, but that won't be for another six weeks. I will yank out a few annuals that have given up the ghost and do some trimming. Every Sunday I have dinner with my mother. She is 96. She does the cooking and we clean up. She is incredibly energetic.

Oh, DD wanted to meet us at a favorite local place. It's one of those neighborhood bars that has really good food. We started with their pretzel bites with the cheese/beer sauce. Then she had: veggie burger and salad with lime caesar dressing. DH had some sort of burger (I forget which one he ordered), I had their "American"--which has cheddar, french fried onions and their 'special sauce'--both came with their homemade potato chips. We all only ate half our dinners (the burgers are rather large), and will enjoy the rerun tomorrow night.

Mom used to send us to the slaughter house on the edge of town for ox tail to make soup. I remember it was cut in joints ( and not the whole tail) and cost all of ten cents. She made great beef and noodles with it too.

DH made a chicken stir fry for himself late this afternoon (he's trying to diet). I had a Mexican potato.

I've got some kind of bug so I didn't even eat dinner. Warmed up some sausage gravy and threw some Pillsbury biscuts in the oven for Harry. I feel icky!! Harry had it a few days ago--told him thanks for sharing!!

Sue you supper sounds great, But where are the green veggies????
We ate out tonight with friends did have chicken, salad, a choice of carrots or broccoli and a choice of mash potatoes or fried potatoes.

Lasagna, which I didn't eat. Felt like snacking on Life cereal instead. I had a big green salad for lunch.

Broiled salmon, green beans, and fresh fruit. No left-overs, so nothing to have for lunch tomorrow. Deviled eggs sound good to me, too, I may have to make some this weekend.

I had scrambled eggs, grits with butter & S&P, and a Jimmy Dean sausage biscuit.

It had turned very chilly this evening, and that just seemed right, and it was good.

I made the Lemon Asparagus Chicken recipe on the Campbell's Cream of Asparagus soup can.I added some sour cream to the sauce though.I have made this before and DDIL loves it.She brought home chicken yesterday and had bought the soup last week so I figured it was a hint.LOL The recipe calls for making on the top of the stove but I cooked it in the oven this time.It was really good.Made rice and lima beans to go with it. I just packed her a piece of chicken and some rice with the sauce over it for her lunch tomorrow.She doesn't eat lima beans so I get to eat those tomorrow.

Had chicken Marsala, mashed potatoes, mixed vegies ala-dente(sp), and lots of Iced tea. Went out.

I have been cooking so much I ran out of green vegetables except green beans and Amber doesn't like them so we opted for the cream corn. Yes, we have some leftover potato salad, deviled eggs and cake. They will be part of Friday's meal.

It was Emi's (our 15 year old) turn to cook (she does Thurs nights) and she made some pizzas from a recipe book I bought lately that is full of recipes using cheese. She made two pizzas... one taco (for her) and one spinach and garlic (for Gary and I). The recipe calls for those pre-made pizza crusts that you can buy already cooked and everything. The spinach and garlic pizza was pretty good, but I didn't care for the crust. I didn't try the taco pizza but it looked good too.
