Tuesday's Dinner Plans?

I made a spicy rice with peppers, onions, tomatoes, and spices. It was great! Finishing the leftover roast turkey, so had that with it.

Very windy today, and sure knocked a lot of leaves off the trees.

Glenda, what a good meal! Do they serve the tomatoes with a sauce? I think Hollandaise, but I can't remember for sure. Jasdip, you had "unstructured" shepherd's pie. :-) I thought I had corn leftover from when I took it off the cob the other day, but I guess not. So ours just has peas in it. The broth I made, made a really good gravy. Enjoy your good weather tomorrow. We may actually see sunshine! woohoo!! Hounds, what a good idea. May as well get good use of the grill while it's on. You are in for some delicious meals this week! Are we all invited? ;-) Sue, nothing like a peanut butter sandwich with a big glass of milk. I don't eat it often, but when I get the urge, I savor every bite. Rhizo, I wouldn't have room for dessert if I had one of those delicious burgers. Shoot, I wouldn't even have it on a bun. Enjoy! Pam, hopefully you live on the northeast side of the US. If you do, I'm sure you'll be getting rain soon. I've never acquired a taste for lamb--and I've really tried. Finally got tired of wasting $$ trying to get it right. Lamb is really expensive here. Is it where you live? Shirley, it's always good to have a Plan B--even for a cookout at home! I think your eggs and toast sound yummy!

Summer squash of all kinds should be a staple for veggie lovers. No peeling or removal of seeds required, very low in calories, great raw, baked, fried, in soups and casseroles and a large variety of baked goods, grilled, steamed, and stuffed. Heck...you can stuff and fry the squash flowers! It's also very good for you, packed with many hidden surprises and health benefits. Most people like the mild, nutty flavor of the summer squashes. I grow several different varieties of yellow (straight neck and crook neck), zucchini and patty pan.....7 in all....and each are unique in flavor.

Satine: I hope you do get to go to the steakhouse. Enjoy every bit of it. Monica: Do you make your own fries? I love them if they aren't 'seasoned' with anything but salt. Raven: I went online and saw pictures of your foods at Rudy's. Both look like great choices. Jasdip: Isn't it great to have food already made - planned ahead? You get a day off from cooking and have great homemade food to eat. Phyllis: Just your dish sounds like it would be a complete meal...sounds great. Sue: I'd like to have one of your ham sandwiches. And the banana zucchini cake sounds very good too. Morz: A chicken leg, baked potato and sides ... send my plate over, please. Old Fixer: I like hamburgers, but without fried onions (I like mine raw). Wow, that's a lot of desserts. Care to share? Rhizo: What a good and healthy meal you're having! I've never had planked salmon. Marilyn: Shrimp Dumbo sounds like a good name for the dish. lol My kids always called pork n beans 'red' beans and they often get called that today. It's been cold and rainy here today, too. I made beef stew. Yesterday was peach chicken with stuffing, corn, & biscuits. We didn't eat the biscuits so we had them tonight with the stew. Shirley, DH would like the unstuffed cabbage! Raven, the steaks sound good, but too cold and windy to fix here. Sue the oatmeal cookies would be good, but I'd pick out the raisins! Old Fixer, yum, fried chops with fried potatoes! Jasdip, hope your mouth feels better soon. I remember the absesses I had as a kid. I had one twice. Ouch. Just be careful when eating and drinking. Monica, mmmm Ice cream! Rhizo, we turned our furnace on Saturday evening when we got home from our two week trip. It was down to 61 in here and damp feeling from all the rain we had had. Kathleen, I haven't learned to cook for two, let alone one! I thought about making chili.

Good one! Jas, you sound like such a creative cook. It was very windy here too. I was busy today and hubby is with the retired guys' golf so I just had a sandwich.

Pam, it was so easy.....chopped coloured peppers and onions and put it in a skillet with some oil and the dry rice. Sauteed and browned it and added garlic and tomatoes, and some chicken broth and simmered it.
Oh, cumin, cayenne, etc for spice.

Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. How about simple fish, exquisite Lake Perch to tantalize Midwest taste buds. Butter & lemon. Cole Slaw, shredded perfection with the tastiest Mayo dressing. Warm & slurpy Garden tomatoes. The idea of a gigantic banana split sounds quite delightful. See you tomorrow.

It was a fairly decent day here today in Ohio. I was super busy, but still decided to make porcupine meatballs. Had that with a baked potato. Also a side salad.

I fixed a shrimp and veggie stir fry with fresh ginger and garlic over sesame rice. OMG....it was so good.

We have a couple of people staying with us for a few days. So pulled out all of the stops and made Cuban-spiced roast pork tenderloin with a madeira apricot sauce, broccoli/cauliflower au gratin, and mashed mixed potatoes (yukon and sweet) with a started course of cucumber yogurt soup
