We finished off the beef roast and gravy and onions. Fried up the mashed potatoes and had creamed corn. All soft, comfort food.

It cooled down this afternoon, thankfully. Tomorrow should be perfect.

I'm grilling several things, so I'll not need to cook for a few days.
Turkey tenderloin, pork tenderloin, artichokes, okra and sweet potato.

It has been another very busy day so I did not feel like cooking for myself. Supper was a peanut butter sandwich, a glass of milk and a couple small peaches.

I'm hungry for grilled burgers with all the trimmings. For me, that means some grilled onions and mushrooms, crispy bacon, and a slice of Swiss cheese. Mixed salad on the side with bacon crumbles and homemade thousand island dressing.

I'm so glad that we aren't dessert eaters!

I had lamb chops, bleu cheese and tomatoes, bread/butter. Not too interested in it. Hot and muggy here and the storm we have waited 2 days for has not shown up yet. Thank goodness for air conditioning.

They had their Memorial Day cookout at the Home where my special needs sister lives. Was there for a couple of hours. The only bad weather of our day was during the time we were to eat outside. And it was just some winds and a few sprinkles. The employees there did a great job of implementing plan B.

Then I had errands to run. So too tired to do much for my supper....two eggs over easy and a slice of toast.

Glenda, what a good meal! Do they serve the tomatoes with a sauce? I think Hollandaise, but I can't remember for sure.

Jasdip, you had "unstructured" shepherd's pie. :-) I thought I had corn leftover from when I took it off the cob the other day, but I guess not. So ours just has peas in it. The broth I made, made a really good gravy. Enjoy your good weather tomorrow. We may actually see sunshine! woohoo!!

Rhizo, I wouldn't have room for dessert if I had one of those delicious burgers. Shoot, I wouldn't even have it on a bun. Enjoy!

Pam, hopefully you live on the northeast side of the US. If you do, I'm sure you'll be getting rain soon. I've never acquired a taste for lamb--and I've really tried. Finally got tired of wasting $$ trying to get it right. Lamb is really expensive here. Is it where you live?

Shirley, it's always good to have a Plan B--even for a cookout at home! I think your eggs and toast sound yummy!

Oh Raven, I haven't had pastrami in so long. Isn't it the best taste?

It is my favorite, I also love corned beef and pastrami together. I bought some really great pastrami at Costco I get some every time we go, I like it even more than Boars head brand. We love sticking the sandwiches into the griddler till the cheese starts to ooze out.

Patti- lamb is very expensive here. Chops were on sale so hubby bought them for me. I prefer a nice roast leg of lamb but not only is it pricey, but hard to get.
