What's for Dinner ... Tuesday?

If you like hot and humid, today would be perfect for you here in my part of Ohio. I had my kind of weather last week.

My meal tonight will be red beans and rice w/quinoa, and a side salad.

What foods were/will be on your plate for your main meal today?

I am supposed to meet my daughter and her family for dinner to celebrate son in law's bday. Sure hope that plan doesn't fall through because I am so ready for a good meal. Going to a steakhouse. MMM good! Satine

Grilled some salmon on a cedar plank, always so good. Made a salad with greens and marinated veggies from the garden, a little rice pilaf. Awfully hot here today, even though the patio and back porch are shaded after about ten, you could feel the heat radiating from the concrete. Glad that the salmon didn't take very long!

We had an unplanned dinner guest. My daughter's first husband had taken their son swimming, and got back here just as dinner was coming out of the oven. The kitchen smelled so good--I could tell he noticed, so I invited him to stay. We all shared a pleasant meal--my daughter, her husband, her ex, and their son. I'm so happy for grandson's sake that everyone gets along.

I have definitely made and eaten my share of them during our years living in Oklahoma. When I made mine I would dice up some of the sweet onions and mix it in with my ball of meat so there's onions in the meat as well as the giant pile on the top of the meat. I hit it with a splash of Worcestershire sauce while cooking. Man I can just smell it!

We just got a nice rain shower which was badly needed, could have used more.

I picked up some BBQ brisket and pork loin at Rudy's for dinner will throw together a little side salad.

We've got seasonal temps again with t-storms headed in tomorrow for a few days. Humidity brings them in.

Sunday I made enchiladas to have thru the week and today was the day. Hubby was thrilled. I have mine with a dollop of yogurt and he puts salsa on his.

Pot Luck for Garden Club; I made chicken salad with wild rice, pineapple, mandarin oranges, cranberries, grapes, cashews. I know we will have a great dinner!

I have been gone with the girls again so my supper was quick, a ham sandwich on toast with Miracle Whip and fresh tomato. A piece of the banana zucchini cake I had made for Sunday. Very hot in the 80'shere and humid. Might get storms or even just rain tonight.

The sun has broken through the clouds and fog now, but its still cool today, just about 67 and a little windy. Using my oven and roasting a whole chicken, with the oven hot I'll probably have baked potatoes. I have tomatoes, blueberries, will have to come up with something for sides I can make with those - not combined ;)

Sun broke out mid-afternoon to quickly bring it up to the more delightful 80's. But Happy Hour here, not the sandbox. Fried hamburger patty w/cheese & fried onions. Sweet corn. Sliced tomato. Why not some ice cream, M&M's, chocolate candy and sip a bunch of Sherry.

Getting ready to plank a salmon. That's plank, not spank. I'll make a brown and wild rice (w/chopped onions, carrots, and celery), cole slaw, and a couple of zucchini patties.

Finally getting hot and sticky here. "The air you can wear ", as the weather dudes like to say. Close to 100 FÃÂ° on Sunday. Hate that!

Even though it is hot weather....shrimp gumbo. Or, as my daughter called it when she was little, and what we often call it now.....Shrimp Dumbo. ;)

baked some chicken breast in panko crumbs, veggies and mashed...i'm very lucky our fan in the hood keeps the kitchen pretty cool, so can use the oven on most days...

Stuffed bell peppers, tossed green salad with sherry vinaigrette and a crusty sourdough baguette. I made extra so it shall grace the table again tomorrow :)

Satine: I hope you do get to go to the steakhouse. Enjoy every bit of it.

Monica: Do you make your own fries? I love them if they aren't 'seasoned' with anything but salt.

Raven: I went online and saw pictures of your foods at Rudy's. Both look like great choices.

Jasdip: Isn't it great to have food already made - planned ahead? You get a day off from cooking and have great homemade food to eat.

Phyllis: Just your dish sounds like it would be a complete meal...sounds great.

Sue: I'd like to have one of your ham sandwiches. And the banana zucchini cake sounds very good too.

Morz: A chicken leg, baked potato and sides ... send my plate over, please.

Old Fixer: I like hamburgers, but without fried onions (I like mine raw). Wow, that's a lot of desserts. Care to share?

Rhizo: What a good and healthy meal you're having! I've never had planked salmon.

Marilyn: Shrimp Dumbo sounds like a good name for the dish. lol My kids always called pork n beans 'red' beans and they often get called that today.

Susan: That's good that you could use your oven to make your chicken. I like all the sides too.

Matti: Stuffed peppers is something I have on my list for once a month. Aren't planned leftovers the greatest?!

Nothing for me. Had one cr*ppy day. Stopped at Taco Bell drive through, for the first time in 20 years ... ordered 5 tacos for hubby and a chicken soft taco for me. Got home (after a 30 minute wait at the drive through, only three of us in line at 2:30 in the afternoon) to 4 tacos and 2 chicken burrito thingies, that were disgusting!
And they want $15.00 an hour?

DH is out of town on business, so I fixed myself Canadian bacon and eggs.
