What's for Dinner ... Tuesday?

It has rained off/on all day today and is to continue for several hours longer here in Ohio. I've had to be my own sunshine.

I made two dishes today. Unstuffed cabbage, and noodles alfredo with lean ground turkey. I planned on having the cabbage tonight but for some reason the cabbage needs to cook a good bit yet. For tonight, I'll have the noodles alfredo, along with a side of steamed vegetables.

Would you like to share what was or will be your main meal today?

Absolutely beautiful day here today, have the doors open. I have some nice bone in ribeye steaks for my husband to grill outside and some vegetable skewers to go with them.

Rainy and cool day here to be sure.

I had my dental app't yesterday.......I've been in pain for a week and a half. It was an abscessed tooth and he yanked it. I was thinking it would have been a root canal, but that wouldn't have done much good, plus it's expensive.

Tonite was still soft stuff, bow-ties pasta and sauce. Applesauce a little later.

Raven: I thought I smelled Italian cooking coming up from the south. Sure enough that delicious smell was coming from your house. Kathsgrdn: That must have been one big meal. Aren't leftovers wonderful? Sue: Cook once, eat twice (or more). It's great not just for not having to cook again but financially. Casey: I like baked chicken. I've never tried roasting vegetables. Care to tell me how you do it? Jasdip: What a delicious looking photo! And you made roasted vegetables too. Angela: I can fully visualize one of those kabobs on a plate/platter in front of me. Georgysmom: I bet you're being too hard on yourself. I know you are a very good cook. Glenda: Another great sounding restaurant. Got a chuckle out of what your meal was called. We had an unplanned dinner guest. My daughter's first husband had taken their son swimming, and got back here just as dinner was coming out of the oven. The kitchen smelled so good--I could tell he noticed, so I invited him to stay. We all shared a pleasant meal--my daughter, her husband, her ex, and their son. I'm so happy for grandson's sake that everyone gets along.

Leftovers here, too. I'm going to make chicken fajitas with the chicken from last night, plus grilled green, yellow sweet peppers, and onions, avocado, chopped lettuce and tomatoes and sour cream, all on a flour tortilla. I'll mix up a little fresh salsa, too, I guess. Raven, I hope that your power comes back on SOON!

I have definitely made and eaten my share of them during our years living in Oklahoma. When I made mine I would dice up some of the sweet onions and mix it in with my ball of meat so there's onions in the meat as well as the giant pile on the top of the meat. I hit it with a splash of Worcestershire sauce while cooking. Man I can just smell it!

Rather cool and windy for the most part of today. Sun did peek out a few times. I fixed Great Northern soup beans and cornbread for lunch and Alyssa and Amber joined me. Alyssa stayed till this evening. During the afternoon we made Raisin Oatmeal Cookies with pecans in them. They turned out really well, nice and moist and chewy. I used the recipe on the Quaker Oats lid. This evening I am not hungry after sampling cookies so my main meal today was at noon.

Dental dudes always require soft beer n' ice cream. I'll be having my 4th "meal" tomorrow after his services. Cookies are a good appetizer.
Today's 3rd meal was fried pork chop, fried taters, canned green bean and pie. Some ice cream with nuts buried in chocolate doesn't sound all bad.

Raven: I'm glad you had a nice day. Your meal would just add to a good day.

Jasdip: I bet you'll gladly eat soft stuff for a while, just being glad the pain is gone (or going).

Monica: Tilapia is my favorite fish. I wish I could find frozen sweet potatoes that have no added sugar or cinnamon ... just plain.

Sue: One of my favorite beans .... sounds awfully good for a cool day. I really could sink my teeth into one of those cookies you and Alyssa made.

Old Fixer: Your meal today sounds like one my Mom would have made. None of us were ever late to table with that combo.

I had a long and tiring day so supper had to be easy! Robert grilled some chops with an apricot, wine vinegar, and red pepper flake glaze. I nuked a couple of sweet potatoes in their jackets (I eat mine plain as well, Shirley), and heated up some frozen green beans.

I saved half of my potato for tomorrow.

It was chilly this morning! I had to put the seat warmer on when I got in the car.....and the heat for the first time. Felt good, though.

It was cold here so I made a half pot of chili. Still had to freeze part of it since it's just me now. I'll take some to work later in the week too.

It's been cold and rainy here today, too. I made beef stew. Yesterday was peach chicken with stuffing, corn, & biscuits. We didn't eat the biscuits so we had them tonight with the stew.

Shirley, DH would like the unstuffed cabbage!

Raven, the steaks sound good, but too cold and windy to fix here.

Sue the oatmeal cookies would be good, but I'd pick out the raisins!

Old Fixer, yum, fried chops with fried potatoes!

Jasdip, hope your mouth feels better soon. I remember the absesses I had as a kid. I had one twice. Ouch. Just be careful when eating and drinking.

Monica, mmmm Ice cream!

Rhizo, we turned our furnace on Saturday evening when we got home from our two week trip. It was down to 61 in here and damp feeling from all the rain we had had.

Kathleen, I haven't learned to cook for two, let alone one! I thought about making chili.

It was very pretty here with a high of 80. I made a new recipe called
One Pot Burrito Bowls from Pinterest. I think everyone liked it but next time I will half the recipe.

Lovely day here today but I kind of wasted it. We went to Half-price hamburger night. I'm trying to be good about not eating beef so I just had an appetizerÃ¢ÂÂ¦Ã¢ÂÂ¦.linguini with clams. It was very good.
