What;s for dinner Wednesday?

Man, has it been so windy here today! Rainy earlier in the day but sunny now. Supposed to get down to 49 tonight. Brrr!

We had lots of ribeye steak left over from Monday when my sister was here so tonight we're having stir-fry. I have a bag of stir fry veggies in the freezer so it will be quick and easy. We also have some crusty rolls left over so that'll be it.

Chilly and rainy here, too...so, time for a fall supper.

Roasted pork tenderloin, rubbed with olive oil, garlic and herbs de provence. Vegs were steamed yams sprinkled with light brown sugar and steamed fresh spinach.

Wine was Sarsaparilla soda :)

Raven, your poor little pup! Don't know why I said that--should've said your pampered little pup! At least you're keeping each other warm. Glenda, that's unusual for IHOP. They're generally more than generous with those pancakes. Oh, Shirley--I don't know how you can take that cold. I whine at 60!! Azzalea, I'm adding that to my meal list for next week. We love that stuff! And I don't think about it because I don't usually have dried beef in the pantry. Thanks for the idea! Bengardening, best thing you can do is rest and keep downing that soup. Sure hope you're better soon. It's too cold to be outside anyway :-) Georgysmom, I've never had fish tacos either. I think your dinner party was last Friday and I forgot to ask how it went? How many people did you have? Nita, have a safe trip. Sounds like it will be an interesting and fun visit with those long-lost cousins. Enjoy! Angelaid that sounds like an adventurous meal. Glenda, pot pie sounds wonderful--but then I love chicken pot pie--even the Banquet kind. :-) Georgysmom, I clean up as I prep, so in my tiny mind, that's just part of the prep. Soup sounds good and I'm sure you have several kinds in your freezer. (Which I'd love to look through, BTW!) You always seem to have wonderful things in there. Raven, my heavens, does that pasta ever sound delish! I'll google the mushroom-garlic sauce, but if I can't find it, do you mind if I come back and beg for the recipe? Shirley, have you noticed the price of peppers has gone way down? Even the red ones are under a dollar here. Rhizo, hope you enjoy your soup. Glad you could make it with less salt--so much better for you. Sue, that's it! I'm making chili tomorrow. I still have cornbread in the freezer (Irondale), but I like saltines with mine. I also have a quirky thing--I like a little bit of sweet pickle relish stirred in before I eat it. Got that from my father. Gazania, want company for dinner? Now if that isn't the most blatant hint, I don't know what is! Enjoy (and I know you will). Oh--now I see you've already enjoyed!!

I cooked that spiral ham. Along with that was mashed potatoes and beets. Anytime I send Bobby to the garage to get a vegetable either from the freezer or canned on the shelf I can be assured he is going to come in with beets. LOL After dinner I cut the meat off the bone and packaged it for the freezer. Got six packs of meat and a big pack with the bone and the juice from the pan the ham cooked in. Looking forward to 15 bean soup in the near future.

Great meals as usual!!! Shirley, aren't leftovers grand? No thinking of what to cook and easy cleanup. Phyllis, it's nice to take something handy and put your own touches in it. Susan, I had to laugh at you taking yourself physically away from the kitchen to avoid eating more. I agree, the packaged meals are definitely portion-control! Pam, leftover lasagna sounds good! Especially with your snowy weather. Raven the rotisserie chickie and your sides make a great meal! Angela, your dinner sounds so good. I really like the idea of the pasta and shrimp salad. Cherryfizz your meal made my mouth water. Did you use chicken breasts?

Amber and I had lunch today at Logan's. I had the Southwestern Barbecued chicken, coleslaw, onion petals, fried apples, yeast roll and unsweetened iced tea. Nothing for me this evening.

We had Mild Italian sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms and tomatoes with roasted broccoli and 'cheesecake' (low carb) muffins for dessert.

Leftover stew for me, leftover chicken casserole and potato pancakes for Sola. Lauren, nothing...she said she didn't feel like eating. Liza is at swim practice.

I cooked pork ribs in the crockpot with Garlic/Ginger sauce and Teriyaki, and served them with sour cream mashed potatoes. They were pretty tasty and a good alternative to barbeque.
