Ok...I'm going to quill now!

LOL...I just got a beginners paper quilling kit on Ebay....it looks easy enough. For anyone who is advanced in this what else do you do besides flowers? I seem to see all flowers when I looked at this craft. I love the flowers and it's what I want to do for cards and scrapbooking but I'd like to see what else can be done.

I had never heard of this before. So I googled it! How neat! It looks like it would be fun and easy. Make sure you post pictures of your future creations. And best of luck on all of your quilling adventures! :)

How nice It is too hard for me. My sister did lovely thing in quilling and even made me a creche for Christmas as well as a little diorama with a reindeer, santa and tree when I get my Christmas things out I'll take a photo.

I have a little quilling tool somehere that I can pass on to you if I can find it.
Congratulations it is a beautiful and fun craft

I have a next door neighbor who prunes there shrub rose down to 12 inches or lower every year in mid-October. For 25 years it has come back every time. LOL Others on the block whack them to the ground in October also. They do no Spring pruning. I wait until the buds swell and the weather is right in the Spring to prune ours.

RMH123, Sorry for your problems and it sounds like youÃ¢ÂÂre stressed. First of all, relax and donÃ¢ÂÂt assume the worst. Mold can be a health issue for some (I can eat the stuff and it doesnÃ¢ÂÂt bother me) and there are MANY naysayers out there. However, donÃ¢ÂÂt get mad at the naysayers but get mad at the lawyers. When mold became known as a potential problem, the lawyers rushed in and started suing property owners and companies for ridiculous amounts for absurd reasons. Many unethical individuals started lining up with these lawyers looking for an easy payday. ThatÃ¢ÂÂs why the insurance companies exclude mold in most policies. Unfortunately, people like yourself tend to get lumped in with all the lawsuit hustlers. Your prices have some big variances. Be careful, many companies charge ridiculous prices for this work. I donÃ¢ÂÂt recommend franchise companies for your situation for a multitude of reasons. Did you have an IH write a protocol? Be careful, some IHÃ¢ÂÂs can go way overboard to cover their butts. Health issues raise major concerns with anyone in this industry so they will likely write a scope to extremes to protect themselves. How in the world did raw sewage get into your HVAC ducts? ???? Great question & posts! It does little good to do away with 10 & 12-SEER equipment when sub par ductwork could easily relegate it to a lower SEER & EER than a properly functioning 10-SEER system. We need a national code that requires similar to manual D ductwork standards that will be enforced. I sent emails to a lot of Utility power companies explaining that they are rewarding on the basis of SEER ratings & NOT on the tested performance of the installation! Not a single one responded, which indicates to me that all they care about is the lower total power consumption of the higher SEER equipment, so they don't have to spend money increase peak-load power capacity. They treated me like I was a nobody not worthy of a short e-mail response. They proved to me, that they DO NOT care about saving energy, but are looking out solely for their own selfish interests'. I have news for them, a lot of contractors are upping the tonnage of the higher SEER replacements, therefore, they will not gain as much as they thought. Were the Power Companies the POWERFUL LOBBY that eliminated the 10 & 12-SEER units that would have helped home owners afford to replace 6-SEER systems along with upgrading the ductwork systems? - udarrell

You can quill all sorts of things from animals to snowflakes to just about anything. I've taught quilling for a few years now. Start with flowers though as they probably are the easiest. Quilling is easy and relaxing once you get into the hang of it.

Thanks ladies.....I'm looking forward to seeing your picture Minnie. I have been wanting to do this for so long, but I don't want to get repetitious and burned out of flowers. I would love the snowflakes too....this should be fun, can't wait to get my kit!

I did some quilling back in the 1970s and 1980s, but I didn't get too involved in it. I just wanted to give it a try. All I did was flowers.
I did some quilling on a copy of an invitation to my dd's highschool graduation . It turned out very pretty.

G to 3 and others I would like to see some pictures of your work sometime.

I did quilling many years ago, mainly making items for miniature houses. We also did flowers, decorations for cards and many other things. I'll see if I can dig up some of the patterns, etc. that I had. It's a fun craft, takes up very little space and isn't messy. Enjoy!

I used to quill many years ago...haven't done it in a while now. I'm sure you will enjoy it, especially with all the "scrap booking" papers and cutters you could make your own papers now!
