Last nite I felt a bug coming on and sure enough, I spent the day on the couch. Smudge, one of the cats slept either *on* me or near me. It's nice to feel "kneaded". LOL

My neighbour happened to be making chicken soup and brought me some. Oh, it was good! Hubby had some and made some ham and pancakes for himself.

I have some applesauce and a slice of bread near me, to have when I want it.

Baking turkey tenderloin now. Will have broccoli and salad with it.

Shrimp, baked potato, green beans from Sam's St. Johns Seafood. Yum.....

Went to a buffet in Amish country for lunch with my daughter today. They had the best baked chicken. Wish I could make it like they did. Not really very hungry tonight so just made a sandwich out of an Amish whole wheat bun and their dutch loaf. I bought tomatoes specifically to go on my sandwiches and forgot to put any on it. I usually don't eat any dessert with my meals but have a piece of apple crumb pie ready to heat up in the microwave later on.

DH had cataract surgery this morning and we had to be at the hospital very early, so now I'm too tired to cook. It will be either Cheesecake Factory takeout or Pizza. Either one will provide leftovers for a couple of days.

Jasdip, hope you're feeling better soon. I have a neighbor that has brought home made chicken soup when she heard that I was sick and I swear that it saved my life, lol.

Matti, you rest easy for a couple of days. How did the surgery go?

Shrimp is a favorite with this crowd, isn't it? I love it myself, no matter what I put it in.

Gadgets, what do you think is the secret with their chicken? I love a good roasted hen! I had to look up Dutch loaf and now, I want some.

I haven't a clue to the secret to the chicken. It's chicken pieces with breading on them, and maybe some chicken broth poured over it and baked. But I don't know for sure. It was so moist. If I ever get to go again, I'm asking someone. Wish I had thought of it today.

We're in the midst of remodeling our Master bath and walk in closet so DH and I had to go to Home Depot and Lowe's to look at closet stuff. Nothing there is going to work so will have to discuss other options with contractor. Anyway, the whole point is, while we were out, we went out for dinner. There was a reason for my timing. LOL I did not have a good night last night and was tired today so I was very happy not to cook. DH had his steak and fries and I had trout and a sweet potato.

well this is supposed to be the last warm day (haha) so we had tuna salad sanmies...

I haven't seen trout in a restaurant in many years. In what part of the country do you live, Georgysmom? I remember catching lake trout in the Adirondacks and pan frying them over a campfire. I've loved it ever since.

I've got a pot of Zuppa Tuscano on the stove..but it's Thursday so breakfast for the crew.
Bacon, cinnamon sugar scones and sausage and cheese scrambled eggs.

I might put an apple crisp in the oven too..
I've started picking apples..and a few pears.

Dug potatoes...weeded the baby green onions..
2 loads of wash and swept the house..

Yep all after a full day of work..oh and a 5.2 mile bike ride in my bedroom.

I still have laundry to fold...but...I can do that after my shower while watching TV.

Rhizo, I live in Williamsburg, VA. I'm sure it was frozen, but still it was good and I love, sweet potatoes so I took half of that home for a snack tomorrow.

Thursday is grocery shopping, and that means dinner is broiled atlantic salmon topped with ginger wasabi sauce and capers, steamed baby red potatoes and steamed asparagus pan grilled in Wegman's basting grape oil with herbs.

Pork tenderloin in cream sauce (except, I cheaped out and used skim milk. Sorry high calories are too expensive on my hips), weed's recipe, lightly glazed baby carrots, and mashed potatoes. It was still good since it more relies on the onions and dijon mustard for the flavor.

Last night was chicken and dumplings. Hubby was one happy camper and inhaled the whole pot.

Rhizo..I don't know...it's even delish rewarmed in the micro. Lol...-licking lips...

I have enough for two more bowls...that's if Kamren doesn't decide to eat some after school.

I use AnnT's scone recipe..I love it..and so versatile..
I also do a cream biscuit...but really prefer the extra lusciousness of butter and cream. Lol

Yep last night scones are good next day cold too. ;)
